GROW AND MATURE IN GOD
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child,
think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away
with childish things.
1 Corinthians 13:11 NASB
In life we change and grow
everyday; if you look five years back you will see a lot of changes in your
life. You will see many things happened during that time and you learned a lot
of new things that shaped your today. There is enough possibility you don't
think the same as you used to think five years ago; and if you still think the
same then there have to be some things that have changed without you even
realizing them.
They say with age comes
wisdom; as we grow in age even our understanding on things increase and we
start being aware of small details that form who we are in life. When we
receive Jesus as the Lord and Savior, we get to be born again in the kingdom of
God; the better kingdom compared to what we were before that is known as the
kingdom of darkness. Outside we remain being the same but inside our spirit
changes and start learning new things as the way new born baby in the form of
flesh does.
This learning process helps
us to mature and be more like Jesus every day. We learn about the word of God,
prayers, living the holy life in Christ Jesus, the work of Holy Spirit, the
power of the blood, the person of Jesus Christ and the love of God in our
lives. We learn to forgive and let go of past, we learn to treat people right
and understand them in their struggles. We learn to speak less and listen more
and stop judging people because not everything seems as it appears.
This morning, I want to
encourage you to ask the Lord to help you grow and mature in Him. It's about
time now you may start being responsible for your failures and seeks to stand
by yourself. There are Christians who tend to blame others for their mistakes;
they even tend to blame the devil on everything! While in the reality they are
the ones who cause all the drama in their lives.
You need to face the truth
and make a decision to change. No one will make you change if you won't make a
commitment to change; the changes in your walk with God need to start from you
and take place in you. If you want to grow then you need to start eating solid
food that is the word of God while accepting the Lord to discipline you that
may continue to mature in Him.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by
faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Dear Father, I'm asking that
You may help me to continue maturing in You. Help me to study your word and put
it into practices that I may grow in You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
