Morning with Ebenezer

CLOUD OF WITNESS

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV

There are people who lived before us; people who knew the Lord and lived according to His will. These people served their purpose in this world and went to heaven to be with the Father. These are what the Bible calls the cloud of witnesses, people whose lives tell us what faith means or we can say who have borne testimony to the Truth.

These are pioneers of faith who blazed the way, and these veterans have been cheering on us that we may finish the race that we have started. They are watching us from the grandstands telling us to run faster and faster and to focus on the goal. Sometime we may ask ourselves why we need to run faster than them; while we can run just like them and reach where they have reached.

These witnesses see the end is coming soon; and they want us to work hard that we may reap the harvest for the kingdom. If the end is coming soon then we have a lot of work to do in form of witnessing to others and praying to the lost that they may be saved and supporting the Gospel with our money and time.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to run with endurance the race that is set before you, while looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Fight the good fight of faith, while holding tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. 

You need to do your level best to walk in the truth and set a good example to those who are outside. The Lord will help you and protect you from all the snares of the wicked one; He will fight your battles and prosper everywhere you go. You need to continue trusting Him and do your part that you may extend His Kingdom dominion among the sons of men.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may use me ooh Lord. Use my life and everything on my disposal for your glory. Help me to use my influence to win as many as I can to your Kingdom; and that I may continue being a living testimony to all especially those who are in the household of faith. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
