PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD

This is what the Lord says:

“A curse is placed on those who trust other people,

    who depend on humans for strength,

    who have stopped trusting the Lord.

They are like a bush in a desert

    that grows in a land where no one lives,

    a hot and dry land with bad soil.

They don’t know about the good things God can give.

Jeremiah 17:5-6 NCV

There is a tendency of most of us to look up on people instead on looking up on God. Most of time when we face problems we tend to remember influenced people in our lives instead of remembering God. We tend to first think about people who can help us instead of thinking about the kind of help that we can get from God.

The Bible says curse is placed on those who trust other people, who depend on human for strength. These include those who have put their hope on witches and mediums; those who put their hope on the familiar spirits and ancestors of their families.

These people are like a bush in a desert where no one lives; where is hot and the land is dry with bad soil. These people don't know about the good things that God can give. They are so depended on men in such a way they have no room for God in their lives.

This morning, I want to encourage you to put God to be the first in your life. Stop looking on men and trusting friends and powerful families members. All of these may disappoint you one day but God will never disappoint you. Men can change and come against your expectations but God will never change.

Maybe you have been hurt because you depended on someone at some point in your life; but that person was not there when you needed him/her the most. God allowed that because He didn't want you to change that particular person to be your own imaginary idol. He wanted you to trust in Him at all points in your life; and that He will meet all your needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear God, forgive me for putting my trust into men instead of You. Help me to put my trust totally into You in all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
