Morning with Ebenezer

BE AWARE

“He said, ‘I ask you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house; for I have five brothers that he may testify to them, so they won’t also come into this place of torment.’ “But Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets. Let them listen to them.’
He said. ‘No, father Abraham, but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent. “He said to him, ‘If they don’t listen to Moses and the prophets. Neither will they persuaded if one rises for the dead.”

Luke 16:27-31 WEB

In chapter 16 of the Book of Luke Jesus is talking about the rich man and the beggar Lazarus. He says that this rich man had everything and ate good food and Lazarus was feeding from the leftovers which came down from the table of that rich man.

The day came Lazarus died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom and when this rich man died he went direct to hell. While this rich man was tormented in hell, he saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his bosom. He cried to Father Abraham to send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool his tongue. For he was in anguish in that flame.

Then Abraham replied and said, “Son, remember that you, in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus, in like manner, bad things, But now here he is comforted and you are in anguish. The rest of the story continues you may read it full in your spare time. But there is something that we can learn from this first part of the story that may help us in our walk with the Lord. (Luke 16:19-31)

This morning, I just want to remind you to be aware that you may not act like a rich man. Many Christians have forgotten that they have a duty of helping the poor, disabled and less privilege people in the community. They have forgotten that they need to take care of strangers and look after the sick. They have developed a self centeredness attitude that they think about themselves and think less about others.

When they go before the Lord, they have those bless me, bless me prayers and forget that there are people out there who needs the church to pray that they may delivered from the snares of the wicked one. You need to sit down and start examining your ways; and see if the seed of selfishness has grown in you. If you see there is a any sign of loving yourself more than others; then you need to go back at the cross and ask Jesus to restore your first love to Him and the things of God including people of God.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer….

Dear Father, I come before the cross of your Son Jesus Christ. Lord I’m asking that You may fill my heart with your love. The love that persuaded your Son to come and die for our sins; help me to die inside that your love may be manifested outside for your glory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
