Morning with Ebenezer

ONLY ONE THING

But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are getting worried and upset about too many things. Only one thing is important. Mary has made the right choice, and it will never be taken away from her.”

Luke 10:41-42 ERV

One day Jesus entered to a village where Martha and Mary lived and they opened their home to Jesus. When He was there, Mary sat at the Lord's feet listening to what He said. On the other side Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made.

Later Martha came to Him and asked, "Lord, don't you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!'' Then the Lord replied by saying, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. (Luke 10:38-42)

When you start examining this answer of Jesus, you will see the hidden meaning inside of those words. Most of the time we struggle and getting worried and upset about too many things in this life. We tend to go back and fro seeking on some things that we think they may make us happy. Sometimes we end up committing sin and doing even illegal things in the midst of those struggles. This is an indication that something is missing somewhere inside of us; and Mary knew what was missing and she made a right choice.

This morning, I just want to remind you to choose a right choice. I know maybe you already have Jesus in your life and you are a Spirit filled person; but daily we face different things that need us to make right choices. There are those tiny decisions that we need to make every day and those kinds of decisions are the ones that define our lives at the end of the day. 

Before making any decision you need to ask yourself what Jesus would do if He would be at the same exactly position you are during that time. Ask yourself what the word of God is saying concerning that particular situation that you are facing; and ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom that you may make a sound decision. God will help you to make a decision that is right before His eyes even if it won't sound right before the ears of many. Choose to please God today and give no room to the devil in your life.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to make decisions that will please You regardless the circumstances. Lord help me to live right and walk right before You that I may be a good example to all who are eagerly waiting for your second advent in this world. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
