Morning with Ebenezer

STRENGTHEN YOURSELF

I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:12-13 NIV

Life is easy, when you're up on the mountain, and you've got peace of mind, like you've never know. But things change, when you're down in the valley. Don't lose faith, for you're never alone. For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley; when things go wrong, He'll make right. And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times. The God of the day is still God in the night. Lynda Randle, God of the Mountain. 

Life consists of both mountains and valleys; it consists of good times and bad times. Every time you see a night then knows that the day is coming. The good thing about life is that God won't allow a single season to last forever. As long as the earth endures, seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease, Genesis 8:22.

Paul the Apostle knew what it is to be in need, and what it is to have plenty. He learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. He did all this through Christ who gave Him strength.

This morning, I want to encourage you to strengthen yourself in the LORD your God. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. You can come up to the top of any situation that you are going through right now; you were born to be a victor and not a victim.

You may be in your darkest night right now and you are weeping because of your situation; but I'm here to encourage you that weeping may endures for a night but joy comes in the morning, Psalm 30:5. You need to know that your morning is coming, your breakthrough is on its way and your miracle is at your door. Don't give up but continue to strengthen yourself in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Morning with Ebenezer

PROMISES OF GOD

For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ, He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

2 Corinthians 1:20-22 NIV

We know that God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life, John 3:16. After He saved us He didn't live us alone but He continued to make us strong in Christ Jesus our Lord.

He made us to be His own people and put His mark on us to show that we are His; and He put His Spirit in us our as guarantee that we belong to Him as a down-payment of that He is going to give us. The Spirit of God inside of us stands as a guarantee that God is going to fulfill all what He has promised in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul says, "The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children, Romans 8:16. The Spirit of God keeps on reminding us our position in Christ Jesus and encourages us to continue walking in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

This morning, I want you to know that no matter how many things God has promised you are Yes in Christ. This includes all promises that God made in the Scriptures and those He promised you personally. Everything that God has promised will come to pass; what you need to do is to stand firm in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God will make sure you reach where He wants you to be in life. He will guide you in the darkness and order your steps that you may follow the right direction in life. He will bring all things you desire in life in His time if those things are according to His will in your life. If He said no to some of the things don't be dismayed; just know that He has the better plan for you.

Morning with Ebenezer

FAITH IN THE NAME OF JESUS

By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through him that has given this complete healing to him, as you can all see.

Acts 3:17 NIV

We have been hearing songs that praise the name of Jesus. We read Scriptures that describe things that were done through faith in the name of Jesus. We are encouraged to pray in the name of Jesus; and we know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no one will see the Father without Him.

Not all Christians have faith in the name of Jesus. There are some who still live in fear and their prayers produce little or no effect because they don't pray by faith. Apostle Peter and John prayed for the crippled beggar by faith in the name of Jesus; and the man jumped to his feet and began to walk. (Acts 3:1-10)

Later Apostle Peter explained that it was the faith in the name of Jesus that made crippled beggar strong. It is Jesus' name and the faith that comes through Him that had given complete healing to him, and He was able to walk. This means that something happens when we put our faith in the name of Jesus; and miracles take place if we put our faith in the name of Jesus.

This morning, I want to encourage you to put your faith in the name of Jesus. If you want to see miracles in your life and divine favor surrounds you; then you need to start putting your faith in Jesus’ name. Don't use the name of Jesus as tradition that you need to use it every time you want to close your prayers or start them. Use it by faith knowing there is a tremendous power released in the spiritual realm by mention of the name of Jesus. 

If you want to cast out devils and overcome every demon that has been following you in your life; then you need to use the name of Jesus by faith. You will see things changing in your life if you will put your faith in the name of Jesus; you will see results of your prayers if you will use the name of Jesus by faith every time you go before God.

FOCUS ON THE SPIRIT

To focus our minds on the human nature leads to death, but to focus our minds on the Spirit leads to life and peace. 

Romans 8:6 NIV

Someone once said, “It always seems impossible until it's done”. We all know that this saying is true for someone who starts something new or engage himself in new environment that requires him to get out of his comfort zone.

We have many Christian in the church who wants to live a holy life in Christ Jesus. These Christians struggle daily to do the will of God and become more like Jesus every day.

We have another group of Christians who have been in the church for a while and who think like they have done all that is needed to be done. These people think that they have grown enough to even turn themselves to be the judges of young Christians who still seek to mature more in our Lord Jesus Christ.

This morning, I want you to focus your mind on the Spirit of God who leads to life and peace. You may be still weak, falling down every now and then; and still struggles in your walk with the Lord. But God knows your heart, and if your heart is right with Him; then know that He has got your back.

People can say words and make comments that may end up hurting your soul. You need to remember that these people are not Jesus regardless of their experience of the things of God. Whoever is mature enough will come to you in love and teach you what God commands us to do in the spirit of love; and if you have sinned the Spirit of God will convict you to repent and straighten your ways.

ABIDE IN LOVE

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

John 15:12-14 NKJV

It is easy to teach things that yourself you don't even live them. We have many religious leaders and inspirational speakers who teach great things to the multitudes; but they don't live those things. If you examine the personal lives of these men; you will discover that they are contrary to their teachings.

Jesus came as a humble man, a Rabbi from Nazareth who lived a simple life like everyone else during His days. He waited 30 years to start His earthly ministry; He lived among us and experienced all what normal people do. He paid taxes and worked hard as a carpenter to meet His daily needs while helping His family in day to day activities.

Jesus was a responsible man and He made sure that He lives according to the laws that were put in His days. One day He gave us His commandment, He said we should love one another as He has loved us. He showed His love for us that's why He commanded us to do what He has showed us. He wanted us to give ourselves for others and be our brothers’ keepers.

This morning, I want to remind you to continue abiding in love. We live in a time where the Church is much focused in material prosperity; and other things that make people to shine more than what real matters in our walk with God. It is possible to be very rich and get all the attention you need in this life; but if you will not walk in love, you will end up losing your soul.

You need to know that we have a duty to love one another; we have a duty to treat each other in love. There are enough possibilities that there are people who hate you for their no reasons; but you are not supposed to hate anybody or build enmity with anyone. Read the four books of the Gospel and look the life of Jesus; try to examine His style of living and kneel down ask Him to help you live like Him.

Morning with Ebenezer

PRAYERS OF THE SAINTS

And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.

Revelation 5:8 NIV

The Bible talks about the Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Here the Bible talks about Jesus who died for the sins of this world and who went before the throne of the Father; and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

The Bible continues by saying; when the Lamb had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell sown before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people. When I was reading these verses I started to understand how prayers of God's people are so important before our God.

These 24 elders many Bible scholars believe are 12 elders of tribes of Israel i.e. the 12 sons of Jacob; and another twelve elders are believed to be 12 Apostles of Jesus Christ. In other words there are those who represent the Old Covenant and those who represent the New Covenant. All of these elders fell down before the Lamb each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God's people.

This morning, I want to encourage you to pray. I want to encourage you to pray by faith in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Sometimes you may feel like your prayers have no importance and maybe no one will remember them. The Bible shows us that God is keeping your prayers and they are before Him always; so don't stop praying because your prayers are not in vain.

Prayers change things, prayers bring restoration and give birth to the new things in life. People of God get the strength they need in this life through prayers. Prayers bring us closer to God and we experience the presence of God in prayers. I want to encourage you to pray every time you get a chance and ask the Holy Spirit of God to help you in your prayers that you may pray according to the will of God.

Morning with Ebenezer

TRUE WISDOM

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.
Praise him forever!

Psalm 111:10 NLT

Years I spent in vanity and pride, caring not my Lord was crucified; knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary. Someone once said, every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future. I believe if you are in Christ Jesus now then you had a past that did not include God; and if you are a sinner now there is still a room in Christ to make things right with God.

The Bible states clear that the fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. The Book of James talks about two kinds of wisdom; the true wisdom that comes from God and the wisdom of this world. The author of the Book of James says the following: 

If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.  But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kinds of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. (James 3:13-15)

Then he continues by showing how the wisdom of God works. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. (James 3:17)

This morning, I want to encourage you to obey the commandments of the Lord that you may keep growing in His wisdom. We see Apostles of Jesus knew nothing before they met Jesus; but after they experienced Him and filled with the Spirit of Jesus. They had wisdom more than all rulers and elders and teachers of religious law though they were uneducated. (Acts 4:13, Acts 7:8-10)

I don't say that because you are born again and full of the Spirit you should quit school and just read the Bible. I believe there is importance of formal education in each one of us; and I will encourage everyone who has a chance to go back to school to go. What I'm trying to say is that there is a true wisdom in fearing the Lord; and as you keep obeying His word and live according to His will. Then that wisdom will continue increasing day to day until the day the Lord calls back your name.

VICTORY IS MINE

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:37-39 NIV

Victory is mine, victory today is mine. This is an attitude that everyone who is in Christ Jesus needs to have in every new morning. The Bible says the tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences, Proverbs 18:21. This means that there is a power of life and death in your tongue.

If you confess you are a loser that is exactly what you will become in your life. We have young men and women who are asking themselves why they can't find someone to marry. They don't know that their words have influenced a lot in their present situations. They have spoken some harsh words towards themselves that have stood in the spiritual realm preventing them to get a person they desire in life.

We have parents who spoke some bad words to their children long time ago; and those words are now manifesting in those children lives. They don't understand why their children have turned to be the way they are right now; but they forgot they are the ones who spoke forth death, defeat, and weakness in their children lives.

This morning, I want you to know that in Christ we are more than conquerors. It doesn't matter what life may bring to you but there is true victory in Christ Jesus our Lord. Speak life in your life, speak victory, speak success, speak salvation, speak healing and deliverance and those things you speak will truly reside in your life.

You need to remember that God loves you and He will use anything in His disposal to help you overcome whatsoever the enemy will bring in your life. Start this day knowing victory is yours, it doesn't matter what knocked you down yesterday but today is the new day. God is going to do new thing if you will put your trust completely to Him.

Morning with Ebenezer

DON'T TURN BACK

And when a person has escaped from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and then gets tangled up with sin and becomes its slave again, he is worse off than he was before.  It would be better if he had never known about Christ at all than to learn of him and then afterwards turn his back on the holy commandments that were given to him.  There is an old saying that “A dog comes back to what he has vomited, and a pig is washed only to come back and wallow in the mud again.” That is the way it is with those who turn again to their sin.

2 Peter 2:20-22 TLB

There are many people who wanted to follow the Lord in those days but they had excuses. Some were willing to follow Him but they wanted permission from their families or take care some unfinished businesses in their families. There was a guy in the book of Luke who wanted to follow the Lord but first he wanted to ask permission of those at his house.

The Lord answered Him by saying; No one who puts his hand to the plow looks back [to the things behind] is fit for the kingdom of God, Luke 9:62. There are many things in this life that can tempt us to look back. The lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and pride in our achievements and possessions can take us away from the Lord.

This morning, I want to encourage you to continue in the way of the Lord. Someone who has gone back to the way of the world is compared to a dog that comes back to what he has vomited, and pig that is washed only to come back and wallow in the mud again.

The state of this person becomes worse off than he was before. That's why we witness people doing terrible things after they left the Lord more than what they did before they knew Him. If you have Jesus in your life right now; then hear the word of God for you today, "Don't turn back". Continue fixing your eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.

Morning with Ebenezer

SEEK HIS WILL

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. 

Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

I remember the above Scripture was one of my favorite Scriptures in my early walk with the Lord. I was learning to put my trust in the Lord since I didn't know Him that much before I received Him.

I used to go to my religious services, listen to the sermons and go back home the same way I came in. I didn’t understand the Bible and I knew nothing about the salvation which is found in Christ Jesus our Lord. I didn't know that my life could be changed by the word of God and that the Spirit of Jesus can take total control in me.

When I started reading the word of God and understanding His plan for a man. I learnt that there is a will of God in everything we do in life. I learnt that if we will seek the will of God in all we do, then they will be no room for mistakes in life.

This morning, I want to encourage you to seek the will of God in all you do, and He will show you which path to take. Maybe you have been trusting God for a life-mate; and you are in a point in your life where there two to three people before you. You have been asking yourself a lot of questions but you are not sure who will be the one from God.

If you will consider outside appearances and economic status; then it will be easy for you to fall in the trap of the enemy. But if you will ask the Lord to open your spiritual eyes and show you who will be the one for you; then He will talk to you in the language that you will be able understand and know that it is the Lord who is speaking.

Morning with Ebenezer

HE IS IN CONTROL

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 NIV

It is amazing how God takes someone from not knowing Him to the point of understanding His will. We all knew nothing about God and things of God when we first. God through His Holy Spirit took us from step by step until this day.

The Lord has brought you from a mighty long way; He sustained you in each stage of life and gave you understanding. Sometimes things may come and make you feel like there will be no other breakthrough ahead of you. Maybe you have found yourself in a verge of giving up in life.

There are many Christians who have given up on themselves. They have tried to live a life that will please God but they kept on falling down. There are those who have been given up on prayers. These people have prayed but they didn't see the result they wanted to see; so they concluded that they will pray no more.

This morning, I want you to know that God is still in control. It doesn't matter how your marriage looks like right now; or how much you have in your bank account know that God is still in control. Even if you fall down every now and then but still God is in control.

I want to encourage you to continue walking with the Lord. If He fought for you in the past, then He will do the same today and He will be there for you even in your future. The Lord is good, continue having faith in Him and trusting Him with your life.

Morning with Ebenezer

HE FORGIVES SINS

On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

Mark 2:17 NIV

If this world was full of righteous people then they would be no need for Jesus to come. When the teacher of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They asked Jesus if they can stone that woman according to the Law of Moses. The Bible says they used that question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing Jesus.

Then Jesus gave them the answer that they didn't expect, He said: "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw as stone at her." Then the Bible continues by saying: Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, began to go away at one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.

The woman thought maybe Jesus will accuse her, but Jesus asked her about her accusers and later He said; "Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more." In this example we see the forgiving heart of Jesus; we see the way He handled His mission well by giving a chance to anyone who was willing to repent and leave his old ways.(John 8:1-11)

This morning, I want you to know that Jesus Christ has authority on earth to forgive sins. He said those words Himself in Matthew 9:6:"But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins." We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We are all sinners who are desperate need a Savior, Jesus Christ. (Romans 3:23)

Don't forget to repent your sins every time you commit them. We do things that hurt the heart of Jesus daily; and therefore we need to live the life of repentance that we may restore our fellowship with Him when we sin. If you are struggling with the burden of sin then it's simple; the door of repentance is still open and you can easily go in and repent your sin before the throne of grace. Jesus will forgive your sins and give you a new beginning. (Hebrews 4:6)

HELP ME PRAY

Also, the Spirit helps us. We are very weak, but the Spirit helps us with our weakness. We don’t know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us, speaking to him with feelings too deep for words.  

Romans 8:26 ERV

In the New Testament alone there are some 261 passages which refer to the Holy Spirit. He is mentioned fifty-six times in the Gospels, fifty-seven times in the book of Acts, 112 times in the Pauline epistles, and thirty-six times in the remaining New Testament.

We can see the Bible puts this much emphasis in the Spirit of God. The Bible says the Spirit will lead us into all truth. He will speak what He hears from the Father and tell us what will happen in the future.

One of the works of the Holy Spirit is to help us pray. We don't know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit himself speaks to God for us. He begs God for us with deep feelings that words cannot explain.

This morning, I want to encourage you to remember to ask the Holy Spirit to help you pray every time you go before God in prayers. You will never be able to pray according to the will of God in your life if you will not let the Spirit of God to help you.

When you pray in the name of Jesus remember that the Spirit of God is the one who will help you to pray according to the will of God. The Holy Spirit is Holy, this means that if you want your prayer life to be bring forth tremendous power which will be dynamic in its working; and then you need to live a holy life in Christ Jesus. If you walk in holiness and make efforts in prayer under the leading of the Holy Spirit then you will see the hand of God in your life.

Morning with Ebenezer

OUR LIVES

Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures; yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow, for they quickly pass, and we fly away.

Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom. 

Psalm 90:10, 12 NIV

Job says man born of woman is of few days and full of trouble, Job 14:1. We all face different troubles in this life. Sometimes years seem to pass faster and old age tends to come so quickly as we once thought.

If you ask people who are fifty years old now; they will tell you that it was just yesterday when they were in their twenties. They don't understand how they finished school, get married, have kids and now they are starting to get old. Life passed like a snapshot and events took place so quickly.

The Psalmist David said: Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty. Then He continued by saying but most of them are filled with hard worn and pain. Then, suddenly, the years are gone, and we fly away. Every one of us can testify on these words, we need to work hard that we may succeed; in the mean time there are many things that cause pain in this life and without God we can't endure all of them.

This morning, I want you to know that our lives are short so we need to ask God to give us wisdom to live it according to His plan. If the Spirit of the Lord is directing you to do something right now; then do it without any questions because you don't know what tomorrow holds.

Don't say I will serve the Lord when I'm old; or I will start going to church in my fifties. You never know if you will reach that age, whatever time you have right now; use it for the Lord. Whatever opportunities you get right now; use them for the extension of the kingdom of God and put into heart these words of Solomon: Remember your Creator while you are young, before the bad times come—before the years come when you say, “I have wasted my life.” (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

NOTHING TOO HARD FOR GOD

‘Ah, Lord GOD! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.

 Jeremiah 32:17 NKJV

We know that God made the heavens and the earth. He made a man a in His image and likeness and breathed to Him a breath of life and a man became a living being.

He is a Father of Jesus Christ and the God of glory; who sent His only begotten Son to die for us. He has immeasurable love for what He has created; He doesn’t want any of us to perish but to reach salvation in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ah, Lord GOD! This was a sign of awe. The prophet Jeremiah was amazed by the greatness and power of God. He knew if God has made the heavens and the earth by His great power and outstretched arm; then there is nothing too hard for Him.

This morning, I want you to know that there is nothing to hard for God. You may be facing many things in this life and sometimes you may find yourself in the verge of giving up. But I'm here to encourage you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalms 46:1.

I want to encourage you to have faith in God; and firmly put your trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. You have been hearing preachers saying that God has a plan for your life and read it through the Holy Scriptures. Maybe sometimes you have failed to believe because of your circumstances in life; but I want to encourage you to believe the word of God. Believe the testimony of Jesus Christ and the leading of His precious Spirit.

Morning with Ebenezer

IT WAS A BLOOD

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

1 Peter 1:18-20 NIV

Sin separated us from God, prophet Isaiah wrote these words to Israel. Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2 NIV)

Since we were separated from God, His face was hidden from us too. Men lived without hope in this world and there was a need of someone to restore the presence of the Lord among men. We needed a Savior, someone who would save us from the punishment that was upon us; because of the sin which was committed in the Garden of Eden.

Peter says that we were redeemed not with perishable things such as silver or gold from the empty way of life handed down to us from our ancestors. Silver and gold was considered us precious metal in the ancient days before the introduction of currency. It was used as means of exchange and sometimes to redeem slaves from their masters. In our case it was different because it was the blood of Jesus Christ which did it all.

This morning, I want you to know that it was the blood of Jesus that saved you from sin. There is power in the blood; there is salvation in the blood of Jesus. The blood that Jesus shed for me way back on Calvary; it is the one that gives me strength from day to day and it will never lose its power.

It is the blood of Jesus that washes us whiter than the snow. It is the blood of Jesus that gives us peace and protects us from the enemy the devil. Don't forget to plead the blood for your life, plead the blood for your family. Plead the blood for your ministry and the body of Christ as a whole. Don't forget to cover yourself in every new morning by the blood; that you may walk under the protection of God Almighty for the rest of the day and be successful in everything you touch.

PRAY FOR YOUR FRIENDS

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

Proverbs 13:20 NIV

Friends are people who influence us in many ways even more than our immediate family members. The Bible says: One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother, Proverbs 18:24. Here when the Bible talks about a friend who sticks closer than a brother; it means that friend is Jesus Christ who can be with you in all seasons of your life.

Another meaning is that in life there are those few special people who tend to stick with us as much as they can. The writer of the book of Proverbs says: As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend, Proverbs 27:17. This means that our friends play a major role in shaping our behaviors and influence our decisions making.

There are fights in many marriages because some spouses are listening to friends more than they way they listen to their life mates. Many people made some stupid decisions that they later regretted; because they were influenced by friends. Some Christian tends to listen to friends more than they way the listen to the Spirit of God. Friends can be a good thing to each one of us; but sometimes they can cause problems in our lives if we will not learn the art of self-control in our conduct with our friends.

This morning, I want to encourage you to pray for friends who are in your life right now. Not all friends are from God; I remember there was a time I set down and asked God to remove all people who are not from Him. I ended up losing even my closest friends who I shared most of my time with them.

It troubled me a lot losing those friends but I had agreement with someone who also prayed the same. She ended up looking friends who were in her life for years; later we remembered that we prayed that God may take away anyone who is not supposed to be in our lives. We thanked Him and continued with our lives. When God took away those people in our lives; I learned that the part of their story was over and God wanted to take us in another dimension of grace without them.

WILL OF THE FATHER

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:10 NIV

When God created you, He had a certain plan in mind for your life. It doesn't matter that you came as accident or you were a result sexual abuse; but still there was a plan for your life. There are those who were born outside the wedlock or one of their parents was still married; but that can’t stop the plans of God their lives.

God knew that you were coming in this world and hence He had a purpose for your life even before you were born. King David says in Psalm 51:5, Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me. This means that sin was involved when David was conceived but this did not stop the plan of God in his life; and eventually became the great of Israel.

God said these words to Jeremiah: The word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” God knew Jeremiah before He formed him in the womb; He set him apart for his prophetic ministry even before Jeremiah was born. He prepared everything in advance for Jeremiah and this shows that He has done the same for each one of us.

This morning, I want to encourage you to seek to know the will of God in your life. The Bible teaches us that God has a plan and purpose for each one of us. We read in Jeremiah 29:11 these powerful words: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. God has plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope in your final outcome.

This means God has Alpha and Omega plans; He had well laid plans from the day you will be born until the day you will take in your last breath. You will understand the plan of God in your life and walk in His purpose the time you will know the will of God in your life. Apostle Paul says that for we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. This is the will of the Father; then seeks Him that you may know in what area of life you are needed to do His good works for glory of His kingdom.

Dear Father, I want to walk in your will in my life. Lord I have done many things that were against your will in my life; Lord I'm asking that You may forgive me. Morning with Ebenezer

DON’T DOUBT

“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.  But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.  

Matthews 14:28-32 NIV

Peter along side with other disciples saw Jesus walking on the water. First they were terrified and thought they had seen a ghost but Jesus immediately said to them: "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Then Peter replied by saying, "Lord, if it's you, "tell me to come to you on the water." The Lord said, "Come". (Matthew 14:22-29)

Peter got down out of the boat by faith, and he walked on the water towards Jesus. But when He saw the wind, he was afraid, and he began to sink. Peter stopped concentrating on the majesty and power of the Lord who called him out the boat and looked on the wind. Then fear entered him and he began to sink. When he saw he was sinking, he cried out, "Lord, save me!"

The Bible says; Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” In other words it was the doubt that made Peter to sink and not the wind. The wind was there also when Jesus was walking on water; but He didn't allow doubt that's why He walked towards the boat which His disciples were in.

This morning, I want to encourage you to stop looking on the wind and start living by faith. Many things may come in your way; you may lose your job, struggle with broken relationships and sometimes even lose your loved ones. All these things can't change the fact that God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.

You need to learn to trust God even in your darkest hours; where you can't even see what is before you. The fact that you cannot see what your future holds; does not change the fact that God see it all and has plan to give you hope in your final outcome. I want to encourage you to live by faith and look on Jesus who is the author and finisher of your faith.
