Morning with Ebenezer

HARD WORK

Do you know a hard-working man? He shall be successful and stand before kings!

Proverbs 22:29 TLB

Do you want to be successful in life? Do you have dreams that you want to fulfill them one day? Do you know the price that you need to pay to reach where you want to be in life? Do you have any plans to make sure that you are reaching there on your desired time? Have you started preparing yourself for the best that is yet to come in your life?

The Bible is talking about the hard-working man, it says this man shall be successful and stand before kings. This means that people who work hard they are in good position of being successful in life compared to people who do nothing or don't work as hard as they supposed. It is true that there are people who worked hard and they were not successful; but I believe through their hard work they had their peace of mind that at least they tried.

People who were lazy always walk with the regret that they would better in life if they would put more effort in their work. Being a Christian does not mean praying and sitting down on a sofa waiting for a miracle. It does not mean leaving everything to God like the sign of having big faith. It doesn't mean if you have helping few people in the body of Christ by encouraging them and praying with them; then you should refuse to work and call yourself a servant of God and demand people to feed you.

This morning, I just want you to know that success is not attained by having faith alone in Christ Jesus but also by hard work. We see the way Jesus walked villages after villages spreading the Gospel to the lost humanity; He healed the sick, cast demons, raise the dead and set people free from the slavery of sin. He did not stay in His home town Galilee and declared Himself Messiah and waiting people to bring gifts to Him.

He worked hard and proved His Messianic ministry by the works He did. The church need to learn from Jesus Himself and rebuked the spirit of laziness which have been engulfing the body of Christ. If Christians wants to be successful they need to learn that they need to work as hard as everybody else and the Lord will bless the work of their hands. If you not work, then the Lord won't be able to bless you and hence you will end up in poverty.

Morning with Ebenezer

DO YOU BELIEVE?

As Jesus was going away from there, two blind men followed him. They said loudly, “Show kindness to us, Son of David.”

 Jesus went inside and the blind men went with him. He asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to make you see again?” They answered, “Yes, Lord, we believe.”

Then Jesus touched their eyes and said, “You believe that I can make you see again, so it will happen.” Then the men were able to see. Jesus gave them a strong warning. He said, “Don’t tell anyone about this.”

Matthew 9:27-30 ERV

It is one thing to ask Jesus for help and another thing to believe that He is able to help you. Many Christians are good on going before God and pray for healing, miracles and financial breakthroughs. Not so many Christians put into consideration the fact that those words alone without faith they will not bring any changes in their situations.

There were two blind men who followed Jesus and shouting loudly that He may have mercy on them. These men knew that Jesus had the ability to make them see again; it is the same to our days, many people go to Jesus asking for help because they know that He is able to help them. But Jesus asked them a very interesting question before doing anything for them.

He asked them, "Do you believe that I am able to make you see again?'', He asked this question because He wanted to know that if they have faith in Him. God only reward faith and not empty words; Jesus wanted to be sure if they have faith first that He may reward them with the healing.

This morning, God is asking the same question to you, "Do you believe that Jesus Christ is able to answer your prayer?''. If the answer is yes, then you need to understand and put Hebrews 11:6 into practices. The Bible says; But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].

You need to know that God is going to reward and act according to your faith. He will not reward your many words or any kind of complaints that you may put before Him. Learn to pray simple prayers that are filled with faith in the Son of God and you will be amazed on the results you will get from Him.

WALK WITH THE LORD

You shall walk in all the way that the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may go well with you, and that you may live long in the land that you shall possess.

Deuteronomy 5:33 ESV

There is a temptation that we are all facing, the temptation of walking in the way of the world instead of the way of the Lord. The way of the world seems always easy and straight and most of the time it brings over night results.

When we look on the way of the Lord, most of the time it seems long, difficult and it doesn't give the results right away. It needs patience to walk in this way; it needs obedience in order to reach where God wants you to be. The way of the world it doesn't demand much effort from you and hence it seems the best alternative to many.

We were taught to walk in the way of the Lord. People who taught us about our precious faith in Christ Jesus instructed us to follow what the Bible says. The Spirit of God inside of us keeps on encouraging us to obey the word of God and walk according to God’s timeline in our lives. He is the one who gives us strength to have a self disciple and wait patiently for the Lord will to be fulfilled in us.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to walk with the Lord. There are many voices out there and many teachings that they may tempt you to leave your precious faith in Christ Jesus and walk in them. When you find yourself tempted to do those just remember how far you have come with Jesus.

If the Lord has been taking care of you up to this day; be sure He will never fail you. Don't embrace short cuts in life; they always end up in pain and regrets. The Lord will never fail you, trust in the Lord, obey His commandments and all things will work together for your good in His time.

I STILL BELIEVE

“I can assure you that whoever believes in me will do the same things I have done. And they will do even greater things than I have done, because I am going to the Father.

I still believe that there is victory over sin. I still believe that there is power in the name of Jesus. I believe that Jesus is the way the truth and the life. I still believe in the prophecy of the Bible; that all what was predicted by men of God in the past will come to pass according to God’s plan.

I still believe in the powerful and victorious church of Jesus Christ. I believe that you and I can live the holy life in Christ Jesus. I believe that there is healing in the name of Jesus, and that men and women of God can do miracles in the name of Jesus.

I still believe that we can cast demons and deliver people from every kind of bondage of the enemy in the name of Jesus of Jesus. I still believe you can break the curses of your ancestors in the name of Jesus. I believe that you can cut yourself from the family tree in the mighty name of Jesus. 

This morning, I just want to encourage you to believe with me for your miracle. I don't know what you have been asking the Lord all this time that He may do for you. But I'm here to believe with you that you may receive it in the name of Jesus. I'm here to encourage you to stand and believe with me for your miracle.

I still believe that God can bless you spiritually, mentally and physically. I believe He will remember you and visit you once again and meet all of your needs. I still believe there is more for you in Jesus than what your mind can imagine. Continue believing in Jesus the best for you is yet to come.

STRUGGLING WITH THE SAME SIN?

We have all these great people around us as examples. Their lives tell us what faith means. So we, too, should run the race that is before us and never quit. We should remove from our lives anything that would slow us down and the sin that so often makes us fall. We must never stop looking to Jesus. He is the leader of our faith, and he is the one who makes our faith complete. He suffered death on a cross. But he accepted the shame of the cross as if it were nothing because of the joy he could see waiting for him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne. 

Hebrews 12:1-12 ERV

There is something in your life that keeps on making you fall. There is a sin that keeps on troubling you every day and is one of the reasons that makes you to go before the Father asking for His mercy and grace. There are those things which slow us down in our walk with the Lord and sometimes they can be friends or even certain hobbies.

The Bible says that we have great people around us as examples; these are people who entered in the faith before us and walked with the Lord for the rest of our lives. Some of these people died but others we read them in the Bible but some are still alive until this day and are good examples on how a Christian man or woman should behave.

We have been encouraged to run the race of faith before us and never give up; while removing from our lives anything that would slow us down and the sin that so often makes us fall. This sin cannot be removed by our physical strength or intelligence. We need something powerful, someone who is powerful enough to set us free from the bondage of those kinds of sins.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to continue looking on Jesus. He is the author and finisher of our faith, and He is the one who makes our faith complete. If you have fallen down, I'm here to tell you that Jesus can lift you up. If you are still blinded by sin and you can't see even one step ahead of you; I'm here to tell you that His word is the lamp to your feet and a light to your path.

There is a room for repentance in Christ Jesus; if you have gone astray don’t hesitate to go to Him and ask for His forgiveness. Ask Him to give you strength to overcome that kind of sin; read what the Bible says about that sin and how you can overcome it in prayers. Don't quit praying; don't give up in your fight. The battle is not yours but the Lord's what you need to do is to trust Him and surrender everything completely to Him.

STRUGGLING WITH SIN?

When people sin, they earn what sin pays—death. But God gives his people a free gift—eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 6:23 ERV

There are dangerous diseases that kill in massive and cause sufferings in this world. Such kinds of diseases are Malaria, HIV, Measles, Leprosy, Bubonic Plague and etc. But for my opinion there is a dangerous disease that kills a human being instantly and this disease is sin.

This disease has been around in this world for almost 7000 years since the first Adam permitted it. This has been the source of all pain and hardships that we face now in this present world. People tend to ignore it because you can't see it or go to the laboratory and microscope it; but it has been killing people in billions since the days of Adam up to this day.

Many religions claim to have the solution of sin but in reality no good religious doctrines or ancient books can deliver anyone from the trap of sin. Many people can teach how we should live right and do good works; but none of them can real give you a solution on how you can overcome sin. The whole world is struggling with sin, we all struggle with it, we need a savior, we need a deliverer and a permanent solution to overcome this disease else we will die like everyone else.

This morning, I just want to tell you that the solution of sin is found in Christ Jesus our Lord. One thing for sure is that Jesus forgives sin and set people free from the bondage of it. He is the only one who can give you life instead of the death that sin offers. He is the only one who can real cure you from the deadly disease of sin and deliver you from all snares of the devil.

You can say, well I'm a Christian since my childhood and I know that so I'm fine. One thing I know for sure is that even powerful Christians still struggle with sin because they still live in these sinful bodies. That's why they tend to go closer and closer to go everyday that they may get the strength they need to overcome sin every day. 

If the devil tempted you yesterday and failed, you need to know he will also come to do the same today but in different way. You need to know that you are in the battle daily and there is no room of sleeping and forgetting that the devil works 24/7 that he may take you down. Prepare yourself today to overcome sin, and when tomorrow comes don't forget that the battle is not over until the day you will be raptured to receive the Lord in the clouds.

STRUGGLING WITH YOUR PAST?

I don’t mean to say I am perfect. I haven’t learned all I should even yet, but I keep working toward that day when I will finally be all that Christ saved me for and wants me to be.

No, dear brothers, I am still not all I should be, but I am bringing all my energies to bear on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I strain to reach the end of the race and receive the prize for which God is calling us up to heaven because of what Christ Jesus did for us.

Philippians 3:12-14 TLB

For sure we all have our past; there are things that happened some time ago that we are not so proud of them. For Christians we know that God has forgiven us from our sinful past but this does not guarantee that we won't struggle to forget it or move on with our present lives.

The nature of human teaches us to get even with people who do us wrong; if someone slaps you on one cheek, you need to slap him back. So many find it difficult to believe that God has freely forgiven them from all their sins through; Jesus Christ because they are not used to forgive others freely without getting a revenge first.

Some of us still struggle with the life styles that we once lived. The devil kept on sending those bad memories in our minds over and over again to make us unhappy and miserable. We keep telling ourselves that we have committed great sins and hence we can't be forgiven without being punished. 

This morning, I just want you to know that your past is over. God has forgiven you and the blood of His Son has cleansed all of your sins. You are a new creation in Christ Jesus, the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

You need to be active and plan for future. There is a reason you are still alive up to this day; God wants you to maximize every opportunity that is before you for the glory of His kingdom. If you are student, this is time to study hard that you may help your fellow believers when you are done with your studies.

If God has blessed you with a job, you need to do whatever it takes that you may be the best in what you’re doing that the name of Jesus may be glorified. You need to use the same efforts in your relationships and marriage if you have blessed with a life partner. Let go of the past, embrace the present and prepare yourself for the better future, knowing best is yet to come in God.

BE ENCOURAGED

We all know that God promises are found in His word. In the Bible you will find the promises of God on every situation in life. There are answers to everything we face; some argue that there are controversies in the Bible. I strongly disagree with them because the Bible is the most accurate book ever written in this world.

If you will read a Bible like any other normal book and try to translate everything without the help of the Spirit of God you will never understand it at all. Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:16: All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

These Scriptures are the ones that give us the comfort we need in the times of suffering. They give us hope that no matter what we are passing through right now; somewhere along the way God will show up and help us. These Scriptures give us examples of men and women who lived and faced the same problems we face; but overcame them through the power of the Spirit of God who worked in them.

This morning, I just want you to encourage yourself by spending time reading different promises of God over your life in the Bible. You need to know that the Bible was written for all of us, but each promise also apply to each one of us personally. So when the Bible says I will heal you; know that God can heal a nation or a group of believers let say a church but also He can heal you personally.

If the Bible said God will bless Israel if they will obey Him let in giving tithes; then know that there will be the same blessings to you if you will obey Him in that particular area. Take the word of God and apply it in your personal life; you will start seeing changes and God will act according to what He has promised you in His word. Be encouraged today; ask the Spirit of God to help you understand Scriptures and your spiritual state will never be the same.

HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU

Those who love me, I will deliver;
    I will protect those who know my name.
 When they call to me, I will answer them;
    I will be with them in trouble,
    I will rescue them and honor them.
 With long life I will satisfy them,
    and show them my salvation.

Psalm 91:14-16 NRSV

People who have chosen to love God, worship His holy name and walk according to His word are what the Bible calls the children of God. These people are God's responsibility as He is the one who orders the step of each one of them; their events in life are fashioned and orchestrated by God Himself.

The Lord promised the following those people: He promised to deliver them and protect them from the evil one. He promised to answer their prayers the day they call; He promised to be with the in troubles and rescue them from the target of the enemy and lift them up.

He promised to satisfy them with length of days and save them from sin and hell. We can say in other words God is directly responsible with the life of His child; the one who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ. He cares everything about His child and He makes sure that His child gets everything he needs from Him.

This morning, I just want you to know that God is responsible of taking care of you. If you have some questions in the corners of your mind, traces of discouragement, the peace you cannot find. Reflections of your past seem to face you every day, but this one thing I do know, that Jesus is the way. (Andrae Crouch, Jesus is the answer)

Teach your heart to put your trust into Him; while allowing your mind to accept that with God all things are possible. Stop fighting your battles alone and try to figure out the answer to every question you have in life. Let God be the one who will take care every single detail in your life; let Him to be God to you and everything within you. Be still and know He is God.

THE JOY BRINGER 2

[After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Romans 14:17 AMP

I wanted to write about something else but last night the Spirit of God, who we serve, directed me to continue explaining about His work of bringing and maintaining joy in the life of believers. In life we all face challenges, in my personal life I have passed through the periods of fire, mighty water and walk in the lonely cold valleys of life.

There have been times I felt so all alone, but one thing I was certain is that the Spirit of God was with me in everything. I have seen my joy being the same in the midst of sorrow and pain. I have seen the Spirit of God giving me strength in the time my mind had nothing to convince my heart to stay strong. The Lord has strengthened me and fills my heart with His joy in the times of fear and despair.

I have seen the Lord lifting me up from the well of heaviness and cover me with the garment of praise. He has given me beauty instead of ashes, and hope for discouragement. I don't know what you are passing through but I want to encourage you to ask the Lord to fill your heart with His joy.

This morning, ask the Lord to fill you with His joy that you may get the strength you need to get rid of your mountain (trial, temptation). The Psalmist says: For His anger is but for a moment, but His favor is for a lifetime or in His favor is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning, Psalms 30:5.

It doesn't matter what you did in the past but you need to know there is still room for you to rejoice in the Lord. God is waiting for people who are tired of sin, people who are tired of relying in their own understanding that He may give them rest and fill their hearts with joy. The joy of the Lord is found in the Holy Spirit, if you don't have the Spirit of Jesus in you then this is the good day to ask Him to fill you with overflowing presence of His Holy Spirit.

Morning with Ebenezer

THE JOY BRINGER

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever—
 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

John 14:16-17 AMP

We see the Holy Spirit is being introduced by Jesus as the Comforter who is also a Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener and Standby. During this time the Holy Spirit was not yet in the world and Jesus was telling His disciples about the coming of this amazing Spirit of the Living God who was the part of Godhead from the beginning.

Today I want to talk about this wonderful Spirit who brings joy in the hearts of believers. If you ask me, I can also describe Him as the joy bringer. Okay let us define first what joy is, we can say joy is the feeling of great pleasure and happiness. According to Theopedia, an encyclopedia of Biblical Christianity says Joy is a state of mind and an orientation of the heart. It is a settled state of contentment, confidence and hope. It is something or someone that provides a source of happiness. It appears 88 times in the Old Testament in 22 books; 57 times in the New Testament in 18 books.

It differs from happiness because joy is caused mostly by spiritual experiences, for example having peace with God while happiness is caused by earthly experiences or material objects. Joy can last depending to one's inward circumstances while happiness is temporary based on outward circumstances. The Spirit of God is the one who brings joy to the heart of a believer that's why there is no joy in unbelievers but temporary satisfaction of sin.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to ask God to restore in you the joy of His salvation. Ask Him to forgive you where you went wrong, because sin is the main reason that takes away the joy in someone life. After repenting you will be in a good position to come before Him by the blood of Jesus and ask the Lord God to restore the joy of His salvation through His precious Spirit.

If you are a child of God, you have a right to walk in the joy of the Lord. The joy of the Lord is your strength; Paul wrote to us that we need to rejoice in the Lord always. Then he insisted again that we need to rejoice, Philippians 4:4. Start the day with the joy of the Lord in your heart, walk in that joy and know that the Lord is going to bless the work of your hands.

Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me where I have gone against your will. Lord please restores the joy of your salvation, and makes me willing to obey You. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Morning with Ebenezer

OUR GUIDE

For this is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will be our guide
Even to death.

Psalm 48:14 NKJV

The Bible says our God is the Alpha and the Omega, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.'' Then Isaiah says God make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. Then we see Jesus says the following through the pen of Apostle John concerning the work of Holy Spirit.

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come, [Revelation 1:8, Isaiah 46:10, John 16:13]. This shows that God knows everything from beginning to the end. If He knows everything then He qualifies to be a guider of our steps in this life.

This is one of His natures; He guides His people and directs them in the right path. He makes sure no one who has put his trust to Him, will be put to shame. He makes sure that no prayer is wasted, no effort is gone in vain and no one is lost in sin. He knows to guide those who are weak in faith until they reach the perfection in Christ Jesus.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to continue putting your trust in the Lord knowing He will guide you even to death. He will remind you to repent when you sin and help you to overcome those sins that so often make us fall.

He is the good God, give Him a chance to take control over your life and you will be amazed on what He will do in your life. He will take you from being coward person to a courageous man or woman. He will take you from being a sinner to a saint. He will tell you things yet to come by through the aid of His precious Spirit. In short you will never be disappointed if you give Him a chance to take control over your life.

Morning with Ebenezer

GROW IN LOVE, GROW IN GOD

Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Ephesians 4:15 NIV

One of the sign that shows a Christian has grown in the Lord is if he walks in love. Many think if they can recall many scriptures and preach the word of God to others they have grown in the Lord. They measure their growth in terms of the gifts that they posses without knowing that there is more in God.

We read in 1 Corinthians 12:31, Apostle Paul says the following: Continue to give your attention to the spiritual gifts you consider to be the greatest. But now I want to point out a way of life that is even greater. He then started writing the famous chapter 13 that every Christian in one way or another knows. Paul said that it is good to pay attention for different known gifts in the body of Christ; however, he wanted to tell them something that is greater than any of those gifts.

He started chapter 13 by saying: I may speak in different languages, whether human or even of angels. But if I don’t have love, I am only a noisy bell or a ringing cymbal.  I may have the gift of prophecy, I may understand all secrets and know everything there is to know, and I may have faith so great that I can move mountains. But even with all this, if I don’t have love, I am nothing. (Ve.1-2)

Here Apostle Paul was teaching the church that the maturity of our salvation is measured by love but not by gifts. He wanted them to know that even if they had great gifts, seeing many visions and speak different languages by the aid of the Spirit of God they needed to walk in love in order to be complete.

This morning, I just want you to know in order to grow in God you need first to grow in love. You need to grow in love of Christ, love other and have a forgiving heart. If you cannot forgive people who have wronged you until now and you call yourself a born again Christian; something is wrong somewhere in you. You need to ask God to help you walk in love and you will be able to grow in Him.

Morning with Ebenezer

EVERY MORNING

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV

God has a new plan for you in every new morning; there is something better for those who trust in the Lord in this new day than yesterday. As days go by the church of Jesus Christ in this world is preparing to receive our Lord Jesus Christ in the cloud. We see the fulfillment of Bible prophecies now as ever before in the history of humankind; this is the sign that the Lord is on His way to come and take us back to His Father.

You need to know that you were born for a purpose. There was a reason why you came into this world; why you were born in that family of yours and live in those environments that you lived. All what happened to you whether good or bad were just things that God used to shape you that you may reach your destiny in Him. The Bible says His compassions are new every morning; this means our God is the God of new things.

When I say new things I mean that He is able to save you from sin and make you a new creature. He is the God who gives people who have given up about this life new beginnings. He make the way where seems to be no way, He restore what was taken by the enemy and keep His saints in a perfect peace.

This morning, God wants you to know that He wants to show His love to you in a new way today. He wants to stand by you and direct your steps if you will give Him a full access to your life. He wants you to go to Him and cast all of your worries on Him, because He cares for you.

Know that there is something for you before God today. Ask Him to fulfill His plan and purpose of this day in your life. If you feel like God is far away, this is the time to come close to Him. Talk to Him before you start your day, tell Him about your fears and ask Him to help you overcome whatsoever you are going through in life right now. He is waiting to hear from you, God bless you.
