Morning with Ebenezer

FEAR GOD

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.

Ecclesiastes 12:12-14 NIV

Solomon who was a teacher and king over Israel in Jerusalem; came to a point in his life where he said everything is meaningless. He said everything that is being done under the sun is meaningless and chasing after the wind.

He was one of the richest man ever lived in Israel, he had wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before him; but still counted all what he had and achieved to be meaningless. He came to understand that the fate of the fool and the wise is death; that one day the wise will be gone so do the fool.

Here King Solomon was teaching us that material possessions, education and fame cannot bring the fulfillment in our lives as most of us think. He had all of those; but still he couldn't be satisfied through them. He concludes his book of Ecclesiastes by telling us to fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of each one of us.

This morning, I’m here to remind you to fear God. Maybe you have been caught up with the matters of this life and you are starting to lose your focus on God. Sometimes success has the way of deceiving us that it will be there forever. Maybe you are having the best days of your life right now and everything seems to work out for your advantage.

Here is where you will be easily deceived and forget about God and the things of God; but I’m here to remind you to stop concentrating on your success and start looking on Jesus. The day is coming when we will be judged according to our deeds in this life and we need to be prepared for that day. You need to know that the world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer….

Dear Father, I’m asking that You may help me to do your will in my life. Give me strength to live according to your word and obey all of your commandments. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
