THE COMING KINGDOM

But the day when the Lord comes again will surprise everyone like the coming of a thief. The sky will disappear with a loud noise. Everything in the sky will be destroyed with fire. And the earth and everything in it will be burned up. Everything will be destroyed in this way. So what kind of people should you be? Your lives should be holy and devoted to God. You should be looking forward to the day of God, wanting more than anything else for it to come soon. When it comes, the sky will be destroyed with fire, and everything in the sky will melt with heat.

2 Peter 3:10-12 ERV

Apostle Peter gives an account of the day of the Lord. He says that the Lord will come unexpectedly as a thief and this will surprise everyone. He talks about the way the heavens will disappear with a great noise, and everything will be destroyed with fire. This present earth will disappear and everything will be burned up.  Then he says everything will be destroyed in this way.

Then he continued talking to us who are waiting for that day to come. He says there is a kind of life that we need to live, the holy life and devoted to God. We should be looking forward to the day of God, and pray that it may come soon that we may rescued from every kind of evil of this world. When this world is completely destroyed, then they will be new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

If we know this truth then we need to live a spotless and blameless life that we may be found worthy to inherit that glorious coming kingdom. That kingdom will not be shaken nor destroyed forever and ever; the kingdom that will be filled with righteousness and ruled in peace. In that kingdom they will be no more death nor mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

This morning, I want you to know that God has prepared a better kingdom ahead of us than the kingdoms of this world. This world will pass away, people who don't fear God regardless how rich they are; one day they will die like every one of us. When they die, it will be the end of their luxurious life and all what they temporary enjoyed in this world. Their names will be forgotten and no place will be found for them before the Lord except in hell.

I know that you don't want to go to hell; I know that you want to inherit the coming kingdom of Messiah. Then you need to wake up every day and make sure you live the holy life before the Lord. In each new morning you need to make it an agenda that you will please the Lord in that particular day regardless the cost it may be. God bless you.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I don't want to miss your coming kingdom. Help me to live the holy life in Christ Jesus; give me strength to overcome sin and live according to your word. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
