Morning with Ebenezer

SELF CONTROL

People who cannot control themselves are like cities without walls to protect them.

Proverbs 25:28 ERV

There are some of us due to the life that we lived in the past can't control our emotions. We find ourselves expressing everything that touches us in a good or bad way. Some of us are struggling with the problem of anger, and most of the time we lose control and end up regretting what we said to others.

The Bible says people who cannot control themselves are like cities without walls to protect them. Self control is the fruit of the Holy Spirit, is found in a person who is full of the Spirit and walk in the Spirit of God. Without the Spirit of Jesus a person will always struggle in controlling his temper and lack the wisdom to control his words. (Galatians 5:22)

Self control will help you to control your moods, you will be able to watch your words careful, when someone wrongs you, and you will be able to control your reactions. You will be able to stick on your original schedule and use your time properly. Self control will help you to control your money and take care of your health. We need self control in every corner of our lives. (Proverbs 13:3, 19:11, 21:20, Ephesians 5:15-16, 1 Thessalonians 4:4)

This morning, I just want to encourage you to ask the Lord to give you self control. Ask the Lord to help to control your emotions and put a guard on your lips. Ask the Lord to control your body desires and give you strength to overcome any lustful desires in your heart.

We as Christians need to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. If we learn to live right like the word of God suggests then we will set a good example to the world. If we exercise self control in our lives then we will not give a room for the devil to ruin our lives for lacking the wisdom we need to control ourselves in this life.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may forgive me for lacking self control in my life. I'm asking that You may help give me the Spirit of power, love and self control. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
