Morning with Ebenezer

FRIENDS

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17 NIV

We all have people that we call friends; these are the ones we have closer relationship with them compared to others who surrounds us. These friends influence our behaviors, way of thinking and the words that we speak in our daily basis.

They say if you what to know a man look at his friends. Friends explain many things about us even if we sometimes don't know and understand it clearly. The Bible warns us not to make friends with quick-tempered people or spend time with those who have bad tempers. It says if we do, we will be like them and then we will be in real danger. (Proverbs 22:24)

This does not mean that we should discriminate these kinds of people but we should not make friends with them. The writer of the book of Proverbs also says; As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another, Proverbs 27:17. This continues to prove that your friends will influence you and make you to be just like them whether you like or not. So it's very important for a believer to sit down and ask the Lord for good friends and that's he may be a better friends to others.

This morning, ask the Lord to bring good friends in your life and take away all who are not supposed to be there right now. You need to have godly friends the ones who will bring more of God in your life; and stay away with worldly friends that keep on bringing more of the world in your life. Life may be short and there is a need to enjoy every moment in it; but you don't have to enjoy it in a wrong way by following the ways of the wrong friends.

You can enjoy and have fun in Christ Jesus with the people that have put their hope in the Son of God. People who will remind you about the Kingdom and encourage you to keep moving forward with your faith and in Christ Jesus our Lord. I pray that God may help you to understand the importance of having good friends in your life while there is still time to make things right that you may not come to regret some day.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the people who are in my life right now. Lord I'm asking that You may keep those people who will help me to walk in your will and purpose of my life and take away all who are there to make me walk against your will. Help me to become better friends to others and help them to reach where you have planned them to be in life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
