Morning with Ebenezer

YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN

God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, then prophesy whenever you can—as often as your faith is strong enough to receive a message from God. If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. If you are a preacher, see to it that your sermons are strong and helpful. If God has given you money, be generous in helping others with it. If God has given you administrative ability and put you in charge of the work of others, take the responsibility seriously. Those who offer comfort to the sorrowing should do so with Christian cheer.

Romans 12:6-8 TLB

There is something called self rejection, this is the spirit that works within many of us sometimes even without knowing. This spirit will make sure you find something in you or on you that will make you to reject yourself and consider yourself of no importance. It may sometimes use one of your weaknesses to help you dis value yourself from the eyes of others.

This spirit will tell you that you can't contribute anything great in the body of Christ. It will remind your past and make you feel guilty for things you did before you knew the Lord. It will tell you, yes you will go to heaven, but well you don't have anything special to do right now so just let others do. The purpose of this spirit is to prevent you live the life that Christ has intended you to live after He forgave your sins.

It's sad to see many Christians have decided to settle down and wait for the coming of the Lord while they can do something for the kingdom while they wait. Many have subjected themselves as gift-less people and hence leave everything to the few who seems to get all figured out. I believe God did not save you that you may just wait for second coming of His Son; He wanted you to participate in building the kingdom with those who have started before you.

This morning, I'm here to tell you that you have been given something. We all have been given something to contribute to the body of Christ; no one is talent or gift-less. Maybe God has given you a sweet smile that can bring hope to those who are down and manifest the love of Christ to the outcast. Maybe you have been given the ability to cook good food to those who were rejected after being invited to eat your food.

You can use anything to spread the Gospel; you can use your professional, your experience and good attitude to win people to Christ. You can use your age to win your age-mates to Christ, your voice to praise Him and your house to shelter those who have no place to stay. I want to encourage you to do something for Christ today.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may help me to use the gifts that You have given me well. I rebuke the spirit of self rejection in me; I will walk in confidence knowing that there is something I can share in the body of Christ. Use me according to your will and purpose over my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
