Morning with Ebenezer

ORDINARY PEOPLE

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 NIV

Paul reminded the Corinthians how God called them, the way He revealed Himself to them and gave them the right to become His children when they accepted Jesus. He said God did not consider their wisdom by human standards; after all not many of them were wise by human standards or born in noble families.

God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. I believe Paul was referring these words of Jesus found Matthew 11:25-26: At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.

Jesus chose fisher men, tax collectors, and other disciples had jobs that described them as ordinary men of the day. These were low income earners and most of them did not even have what was known as formal education in those days. God used them to bring forth salvation to the whole world through them; this is true even to most of us that are called by the name of the Lord. God chose us with our flaws but He doesn't want us to continue living with them.

This morning, I just want you to know that if God used ordinary people in the past then He will use you. It doesn't matter where God found you; which family you came from and what kind of weakness you had before you knew the Lord but God can take you from nothing to everything.

The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. God will give you all the wisdom you need in this life; He will bring all the right people in the right time. Don't ever look down and give up on yourself because God will never look down and give up on you.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for choosing me to inherit salvation in Christ Jesus. Lord I'm asking that You may continue helping me to grow in You day after day until I reach fulfillment in Christ Jesus our Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
