SOUR GRAPES

The word of the Lord came to me again, saying, “What do you mean when you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying:

‘The fathers have eaten sour grapes,
And the children’s teeth are set on edge’?

Ezekiel 18:2 NKJV

In ancient Israel there was a proverb which says, ''The parents [fathers] have eaten sour grapes, and that caused the children to grind their teeth from the sour taste [be set on edge].’ This proverb means the children were suffering for the things their parents did. Prophet Jeremiah prophesied about this proverb and said that there will be days which this proverb will be no longer used in Israel.

He said, each person will die for his own sin(iniquity); the person who eat sour grapes will grind his own teeth, Jer 31:29-30, Lam 5:7. Later the Lord spoke through Prophet Ezekiel confirming what Jeremiah had said, “As I live,” says the Lord God, “you shall no longer use this proverb in Israel.“Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father. As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.(Ezekiel 18:3)

I have seen many people suffer because of what their parents did; I have seen people who were demons possessed for long time because they were given to kingdom of darkness since their childhood. There are some resistant behaviors which have been passed down from generation to generation in our families; which have affected our lives totally.

There are familiar spirits which carry orders of passing a certain kind of ungodly behaviors to new born babies in our families; because someone way back sold the whole generations to come after him to the devil. This should not be so, the sour taste which caused us to grind our teeth because of the sins of our fathers need to stop!

This morning, God wants you to know that the soul who sins shall die. You don't need  to suffer for the sins which others did in the past, you don't need to continue to struggle with the demons which possessed your fathers. You need to refuse to be refused, to deny to be denied! You need to stop walking in the same sins which your fathers did nor carrying their guilty because you are not the one who did them.

Call the name of Jesus that you may be saved from the curses of your ancestors. Ask the Lord to set you apart from all kind of resistant behavior which you have been seeing in your family since you got understanding. You need to confess that You and your household will no longer walk in the ways of your fathers; the power of life and death is in your tongue. Change your life by speaking life into it instead of death which was all around you. God bless you.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I refuse to walk in the ways which my fathers who did not know you walked; I refused to be the victim of demons and curses which have passed in my blood line all this time. I purify myself by your blood, and I will serve you all the days of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
