Morning with Ebenezer

THE KINDNESS OF GOD

My soul, praise the Lord!
Every part of me, praise his holy name!
My soul, praise the Lord and never forget how kind he is!

Psalm 103:1-2 ERV

When we come across hardships in life, we tend to put aside everything and concentrate dealing with whatsoever makes us to be uncomfortable. We tend to forget the kindness of God in our lives, the enemy makes us think about our problems and gives us no chance to think about what God has done in our lives.

David knew that sometimes our souls go weary and forget everything which God did for us, and for this reason he commanded his soul to never forget how kind God was in his life. Here is the place which we start complaining before God, most of us compare ourselves with others who seem to be better than us, then we start complaining to God why He did not make us like them, forgetting that God has put the best in each one of us, and that we were created for different purposes.

When we discover our purpose in life, appreciate it and be good at it; we will not need to compare ourselves with anyone else out there. The Children of Israel tried to compare themselves with other nations, they wanted to serve their gods, live their life styles and have kings like other nations had in those days. They forget about the kindness of God who brought them out from Egypt with His outstretched hand. They soon forget about all the wonders which God did for their sake and His promise that He will be with them always.

This morning, God wants you to remember what He has done for you. He wants you to remember how far He has brought you, where you used to be before and where you are now. How many good things which He has done for you, those times the enemy wanted you to die but His mercy said No. Many times the enemy wanted to put you to shame but the blood of His Son covered you all the way through and no one saw your nakedness.

It was God who helped you in your darkest hours, He shone forth as the bright star to show you the way. It was God who sent people to help you in your hour of temptation, place you in the right environment and made you meet right people who helped you to become what you are right now. It is God who has brought you this far, He has a plan for your life.

He did not bring you this far to fail, there is a purpose for you to be where you are right now. Thank Him for His kindness today, never forget that through His mercies you are not consumed, because His compassions fail not, they are new every morning, great of His faithfulness.(Lamentations 3:22-23)
