EYES OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. 

Ephesians 1:17-19 NIV

If you are well informed about a certain topic, you will be able to explain and defend that particular topic in confidence and assurance that what you saying is right. People who were well informed by the word of God and who walked with God in their lives; had more than enough evidences to explain things about God and how He showed Himself strong in their lives.

Paul the Apostle was one of them, He prayed that God may give the Church of Ephesus the Spirit of wisdom and revelation of Jesus, so that they would know him better. Then he continued praying that the eyes of their hearts or the eyes of their understanding may be enlightened in order that they may know the hope to which they were called, and the riches which Christ had as inheritance for the Church.

Most of the time we lost focus, we lost our direction in Christ due to the lack of enough light in us to enlight the eyes of our hearts. This cause us to live a defeated life because we don't know our position in Christ and what can be accomplished with Him being in our side. The eyes of our understanding can be enlightened by the word of God, which possess all the light needed to remove all darkness in us.

This morning, God wants you to know that His word is the lamp to your feet, and light unto your path. God wants you to know that, the darkness and uncertainty inside of you, will be removed only if you will be well informed by the His word. There are a lot of questions which you keep on asking yourself for years, but the answers are found in the word. (Psalm 119:105)

God has revealed Himself in His word, God has explained all what we need to do in order to be saved and live the victorious life on this earth. He spoke through the prophets in the Old Testament but in this New one, He had spoken through His Son Jesus Christ. The word will enlight your heart, the word will give you understanding. The word will teach you how you can become a child of God, the word will show you the way which you should go and direct you feet that you may not fall.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your word. Lord I'm asking that You may create in me the great desire to study your word, that I may get the understanding I need to be effective both in spirit and flesh. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
