Morning with Ebenezer

FISHERS OF MEN

When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners.

Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.

Luke 5:8-11 NIV

Simon Peter, James and John were among of the first followers of Christ. They witnessed a miracle of catching a large number of fish that their nets began to break after they followed the instructions of the Lord. These men left all what they had and followed the Lord and the Lord made them to be the fisher of men.

They left everything including their houses, businesses and cities for the sake of Christ and the Gospel. The Lord used them mighty and through them the foundation of the church of Jesus Christ was built and the whole world has been blessed through their works. They gave their lives for a good cause and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

There is a great need of fishers of men in our generation. The church needs people who will be willing to leave everything behind and go to fish the lost at any cost. We see some who claim to do that but honestly they have their hidden agenda and some are there just for their stomachs. Some preachers have made the gift of God to be for sale and hence people are forced to give something in exchange for miracles.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to be a fisher of men in your arena of influence. People need to hear the Good News of Jesus; they need to know that all the answers to our lives problems are found in the Lord Jesus Christ. They need to know that they will not be able to see the Father expect through Jesus Christ Son of the Living God.

They need to know that there is forgiveness of sin in Jesus Christ, there is healing, deliverance and the peace which surpass all understanding. The Lord gave us the great commission to go to the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to obey everything that He has commanded us, and surely He will be with us always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:16-20)

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to be a fisher of men in my area of influence. Use me Lord for your own glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
