LEAP OF FAITH
What good is it, my brothers, if someone
says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a
brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of
you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the
things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it
does not have works, is dead.
Hebrews 1:14-17 NIV
A leap of faith, in its most commonly used
meaning, is the act of believing in or accepting something intangible or
unprovable, or without empirical evidence. Empirical evidence is a source
of knowledge acquired by means of observation or experimentation.
The Bible says faith is the assurance of
things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen, Heb 11:1. The writer of
the book of James says faith without works is dead. It's like claiming you love
someone dearly and not showing that love through your deeds to that person; is
the same like not loving him at all. If someone claims to have Christ in him,
he should prove it by his life but not by words alone.
We have bunch of Christians in the body of
Christ who claim to be shown by the Lord their destiny. Some claim that the
Lord showed them that they will be ministers of the Gospel and they will have
large ministries; but they continue living their normal life without doing
anything to make what they saw in the night to be evident in the light. They
need to believe and accept what they saw in the spiritual realm and start
working with it without trying to find ways of experimenting it in their
limited minds.
This morning, I just want to encourage you
to put the vision which God has shown you into action. Maybe God showed you
that one day you will own a very nice house. Every time you think about that
vision and compare with your present situation; it seems nearly impossible to
have such a house in million years. You may be measuring the vision of God
through your carnal mind which is subjected to limitations but the mind of God
is limitless.
You need to take a leap of faith, if it is
a matter of the house start saving for it and looking for suitable locations in
order that you can start construction. If God calls you in the ministry, sit
down and ask God to show you which kind of area you been called: Are you a
Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist, Prophet or Apostle? Learn about your area of
calling and read the Bible that you may know how God used people in the past that
operated on your gift.
Don't sit down and wait for a miracle, I
believe the vision for itself was a miracle for you. If you are single and you want
a successful marriage this is time to learn things about marriage and how you
suppose to behave when you get there. You want your children to fear the Lord?
It's simple, start teaching them about the word of God from their tender age
and you will never be disappointed.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God
is going to answer your prayer....
Dear Heavenly Father, help me to add works
in my faith that I may be able to reach where you want me to be in life. In
Jesus' Name, Amen.
