LYING TONGUE

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.

Proverbs 6:16-19 ESV

The ninth commandment of God says, ''You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. When someone stands bear false witness against his neighbor is abomination to the Lord. This attitude of being false witness comes from the behavior of telling lies, speaking lies in one's daily basis. [Exodus 20:16]

We have this problem in the church of today, some folks justifies lying thinking it is not a  very serious sin before the Lord. So when they lie, they just take it for granted and tends to ignore it's punishment. That's why we have many Pastors and Preachers not less Church leaders who lie about everything to their Church members. These who so call themselves men and women of God, lie about how they spend the money and sometimes add unnecessary costs so that they may get money for their own selfish desires.

This problem is huge, we see the way husbands and wives of this age cheat one another by using this common device which is a lying tongue. Some tell their spouses that they will travel for a meeting in another State or Country but as the result they go and spend that time with their lovers. This rate is increasing daily, and even the saints are being captured in this trap, and all of us pretend that things are just fine, which is not true!

This morning, God wants you to know that lying,  and being a false witness who breathes out lies, are both abomination to Him. He wants you to treat lying as the way you treat all other sins, if you flee yourself from sexual immorality, you need also to flee yourself from lying. This sin is as bad as any other sin which you fear to commit before Him.

The Bible says clearly that the portion of all liars will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. You don't want to go there, you don't need to be among of them who will face what the Bible calls the second death. You need to stop lying, you need to starting speak the truth with your neighbor, for we are members of one another.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may forgive me for being a liar. Help me from this wicked tongue, teach my heart to speak the truth regardless  of its cost. Help me to be a faithful witness to my brethren as your Word commands. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
