Morning with Ebenezer

HUMBLE THY SELF

Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

“So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Matthew 6:1-2 NIV

The Bible is the best selling book of all times. It has been applied with all generations and it always has the right meaning for every event in a right time. In the Bible there is every topic concerning how a human being will be able to live a life of peace, joy in the Lord. Every time the pages of the Bible being opened, someone's life gets to be transformed and renewed as the Word of God promises.

Jesus warned us not to practice good things in front of others to be seen by them. If we do that,  we will have no reward from our Father in heaven. We have some people in our circle of influences, who likes to announce to people every good thing they ever did in their lives.  Nowadays through the development of science and technology, and the introduction of social medias. We have seen most of our brethren overlook this scripture and tend to announce everything good which they do to others in these social media sites.

Some even without shame brag themselves that they are good tithes payers, offering givers and so they will get all the blessings which God had in store for them. But they forget that they have already got their reward from men through what they announced. This spirit of seeking to be known as the righteous man or woman to people was the spirit which was within Pharisees in the days of Jesus.

This morning, God wants you to know whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted. Stop sharing with people the good things which you are doing for others, stop telling how good and generous you are! By doing that you will not get anything from God because you have got the praise from your fellow men. If you will exalt yourself, you will be humbled, and if you humble yourself, you will be exalted.

Learn to do good things and keep them as a secret between you and God. Don't say, without me so and so wouldn't finish their education. Without me He wouldn't have that job, without me being in control that church would have failed down. Without me he wouldn't know the Lord as he does now. Walk in humbleness, and God will accompany you in the journey.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may teach my heart to humble before You. Help me to return all the glory to You in whatsoever talent You have given me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
