Morning with Ebenezer

CAN ANYTHING GOOD COME OUT OF NAZARETH?

The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.” Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?”

Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

John 1:44-46 NKJV

Can anything good come out of Nazareth? This was a question asked of Jesus’ disciple Nathanael – and Phillip said to him; “Come and see.” Nathanael was from Cana, another Galilean town just to the North of Nazareth. While Galileans were despised by Judeans, Galileans themselves despised people from Nazareth. People are asking the same question today. Can anything good come out of Nazareth?

Every country, state and province has a place like Nazareth. It’s a place so remote that nothing ever happens there, no one of distinction lives there, and no one of importance comes from there. Nathanael thought a savior will come from a big city such as Jerusalem, will come from the family of literate but it was different with Jesus. Philip just said to him, ''come and see.''

This is the same with the Gospel which we preach, if there are people who doubt it, our answer  is come and see. If there are people who don't believe it's story, our answer is come and see. If there are people who think that Christianity is the false and fake religion and being born again is not possible, our answer for them is come and see.

This morning, God wants you to know that there is something good which comes from Nazareth. Put your life in the place of Nazareth, people said that you will not reach to anything, you came from a poor family or you had a bad background and hence there is nothing good which will come out of you. But behold, as the way Jesus came from a small town and went forth and touched the whole world, it will be the same with you.

No matter where you came from, which language you spoke and how many years you spent in darkness. There is hope for you, there is a new life in Christ Jesus. God will use you regardless of your background, He will use whatsoever resources in you to touch people in your world. To change your family and loved ones, God will uplift you and set you somewhere were you will be a blessing to many. Don't give up, there are some good things which will come out of you! May Jesus of Nazareth bless you.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord now I know that there is something good which will come out from me. Help me wait and trust You until the time comes when you will use me according to your purpose in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
