GOOD SHEPHERD
John 10:11-13 NIV
In Psalm chapter 23 we see King David introduce to us Jehovah-Rohi, the Lord my shepherd. David knew everything about the life of both the shepherd and the sheep because it was what he used to do before he became a king. When David was out with his flocks he was totally responsible for their everything.
David made sure his flocks get good pasture, still water, care, discipline and he protected them from every type of danger and attack from wild animal. When David speaks of the Lord as his shepherd, he is saying that he completely understands and calls upon the Lord to be his everything.
The good shepherd cares for the sheep, he lays down his life for the sheep. Jesus cares for you, he laid down his life for you. This Jesus knows all that you need and he is more than willing to provide for you because you are one of his flocks. Paul knew that the Lord was his shepherd, that;s why he told the Philippians this,''And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.''[Phil 4:19]
This morning, God wants to introduce Himself to you as the Jehovah-Rohi, the Lord your shepherd. He wants you to know that he is responsible with your well being in all aspects of your life. He is ready to fight with wolfs which will be coming on your way to attack and scatter your life.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper, the good shepherd will make sure that you are good and safe if you will continue staying among the flocks. The flocks is the church of our time, if you will walk in the obedience and put your trust in a good shepherd, you will never be lost. Start your day knowing all your needs are met and God is in control over your life, because He is the shepherd of your soul.
