Morning with Ebenezer

 ABIDE IN JESUS

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.  I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.  If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

John 15:4-6 NASB

Jesus started chapter 15 of the Book of John by saying, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. Jesus used parables and symbols to speak His messages to His disciples and the multitudes that always accompanied Him. Many did not understand as many don't until this day; but for those who received it, they were given the right to become children of God.

The words of Jesus which are recorded in the Books of the Gospels still speak to us up to this day. They appear to be new everyday in our ears, and when they are being read; we believe that God speaks to us through them. Jesus asked us to abide in Him, and promised to be in us. He said as no branch can produce fruit alone; it must stay connected to the vine. It is the same with us, we cannot produce fruit alone. We must stay joined to Him.

In other words we cannot do the work of ministry without the help of Jesus Himself. We cannot live a proper Christian life according to what is written in the sacred Scriptures; if we are don't submit our lives first to the one who has the power to save our souls. But if we are separated from God we won't be able to do anything.

This morning, I want to encourage you to abide in the Lord. I know that life can bring a lot of things in your way; you may be even struggling to pay your bills and fear for your tomorrow. The world may come with different alternatives that would solve your problems; but maybe deep down you know all of those are not from God. If that is the case, then you need to continue staying faithful; and waiting for salvation from the Lord.

You don't want to be known as a Christian in this life; and end up in the hell of fire because you lived a double life. If you are living a double life, today is a day you need to stop. The Lord is watching you, so if you chose Him as the Lord and Savior of your life then you need to live for Him and leave the world behind.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, I'm asking that You may help me to abide in the Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to live for Him, stay in Him and do all things according to His word. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
