Morning with Ebenezer

GOSPEL MESSAGE

Jesus also said, “Here is what God’s kingdom is like. A farmer scatters seed on the ground.  Night and day the seed comes up and grows. It happens whether the farmer sleeps or gets up. He doesn't know how it happens.  All by itself the soil produces grain. First the stalk comes up. Then the head appears. Finally, the full grain appears in the head. Before long the grain ripens. So the farmer cuts it down, because the harvest is ready.”

Mark 4:26-29 NIRV

The above parable is called the parable of the growing seed. Only Mark records this parable. Whereas the parable of the sower stresses the importance of proper soil for growth of see and the success of the harvest, Mark 4:1-20, Mt 13:1-23, Luke 8:1-15. Here the mysterious power of the seed itself is emphasized. The gospel message contains its own power.

When we say parables we mean stories out of ordinary life used to illustrate spiritual or moral truth, sometimes in the form of brief similes, comparisons, analogies or proverbial sayings. They tended to have as single main point, and every detail was meant to have significance. Jesus used to speak in parables when He wanted to teach the multitudes; and He later explained the meaning of His parables to His disciples. (Zondervan NIV STUDY BIBLE)

In the above parable the Farmer is God Himself who sends His word which is the seed to the ground that are hearts of men. When the word has been planted into the hearts of people; it has its way of growing day and night. When that word has grown in that people hearts, the time of harvest will come; and the Farmer will come to take His people out of this world.

This morning, I want you to know that there is power in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. There is life changing power in the Gospel to everyone who obeys it by faith in the Christ Jesus. There is healing in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ; miracles take place when the Gospel is preached.  People are being taken out from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of Son of His love.

If you want to see your life changed, then you need to read the Gospel message and live according to the teachings of the Lord. The time you start before the Lord in prayers start claiming all the promises of God that are found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Believe the word of God; learn to live by faith and not by sight. Train yourself to wait on the Lord; and to stick in His will no matter what the life may bring. God will be with you and strengthen you in each step that you will be making in life.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may change me to be like your Son Jesus Christ. I avail myself before You ooh Lord. Touch my heart and heal my soul; give me the understanding I need that I may walk according to your plan in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
