Morning with Ebenezer

FLEE

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

1 Timothy 6:11-12 NKJV

There are many things to flee from in this life. The Bible talks about fleeing from the love of money: It says for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (1 Timothy 6:10)

The Bible says ask us to flee from sexual immorality. No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body, 1 Corinthians 6:18. Then the Bible continues by saying: Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (Ve. 19-20)

Another thing that a Christian should learn to flee from is pride. The Bible says; God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. If you live an arrogant life then you will be in trouble with God Himself. Then the Bible says: A man’s pride will bring him low, but the humble in spirit will retain honor. (Proverbs 29:23)

This morning, I want to encourage you to flee from those things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness. You need to fight the good fight of faith, and keep hold on eternal life that you received by faith from our Lord Jesus Christ.

God is up there watching over you; He cares for you and He has a good plan for your life. I want to encourage you to continue fighting against sin; fleeing from every evil influence of this world. God is going to reward you one day according to your deeds. The sacrifices that you are making right now for the sake of the Gospel are not in vain. Keep moving forward by faith knowing that God is with you in every step.

****Morning Prayer***

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may give me strength to flee from every kind of evil influence in this life. Lord help me to live according to your will and purpose in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
