Morning with Ebenezer

A BROTHER WHO SINS AGAINST YOU

If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Matthew 18:15-17 NIV

Jesus said, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!” Luke 17:1. In our walk with the Lord we get to come across with people who offend us in one way or another.

These people may be our fellow members in the body of Christ, people who we work with or even our immediate family members. Jesus said if your brother sins against you, this means offended you; go and show his fault, just between the two of you. Here Jesus was teaching us not to rush spreading the news to others before confronting people who offended us.

Then He continued by saying; but if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses. This is the second stage on resolving the conflict; if he or she did not listen to you then you allowed taking others along, that they may help you two come to an understanding.

If this person will refuse to listen to them, and then tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector. Here Jesus was telling us that the church should be our last destination when it comes in solving our conflicts as believers. And if that he refuse to listen to the church, then you don't need to walk in guilty; because you would have done your part as a believer.

This morning, I want to ask you not continue living with pain inside of you anymore. If there is someone has sinned against you knowingly or unknowingly; today is the day for you to go and show him his fault. You don't have to give Satan a chance by allowing bitterness to form its nest inside of you. Go to that person and open up to him that you may be free and that you may not continue to hurt.

If for whatever reasons he refuses to listen to you, then do what the Scriptures instructs us to do; and at the end if he will refuse to listen to the church. You need to live him alone and continue praying for his soul as you pray for people who don't know God.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, I'm asking that You may give me courage to go and face someone who has offended me. Give me strength to forgive him and letting go all the pain inside of me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
