Morning with Ebenezer

IT WAS A BLOOD

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake.

1 Peter 1:18-20 NIV

Sin separated us from God, prophet Isaiah wrote these words to Israel. Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. (Isaiah 59:1-2 NIV)

Since we were separated from God, His face was hidden from us too. Men lived without hope in this world and there was a need of someone to restore the presence of the Lord among men. We needed a Savior, someone who would save us from the punishment that was upon us; because of the sin which was committed in the Garden of Eden.

Peter says that we were redeemed not with perishable things such as silver or gold from the empty way of life handed down to us from our ancestors. Silver and gold was considered us precious metal in the ancient days before the introduction of currency. It was used as means of exchange and sometimes to redeem slaves from their masters. In our case it was different because it was the blood of Jesus Christ which did it all.

This morning, I want you to know that it was the blood of Jesus that saved you from sin. There is power in the blood; there is salvation in the blood of Jesus. The blood that Jesus shed for me way back on Calvary; it is the one that gives me strength from day to day and it will never lose its power.

It is the blood of Jesus that washes us whiter than the snow. It is the blood of Jesus that gives us peace and protects us from the enemy the devil. Don't forget to plead the blood for your life, plead the blood for your family. Plead the blood for your ministry and the body of Christ as a whole. Don't forget to cover yourself in every new morning by the blood; that you may walk under the protection of God Almighty for the rest of the day and be successful in everything you touch.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, I thank You for your word. Lord I thank You for shedding your blood there on Calvary; I'm asking that You may cover my life with your blood. I plead the blood over my life and my loved ones. I'm asking that You may cleanse them from all unrighteousness and bring them back to your kingdom. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
