Morning with Ebenezer

TRUE WISDOM

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.
Praise him forever!

Psalm 111:10 NLT

Years I spent in vanity and pride, caring not my Lord was crucified; knowing not it was for me He died on Calvary. Someone once said, every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future. I believe if you are in Christ Jesus now then you had a past that did not include God; and if you are a sinner now there is still a room in Christ to make things right with God.

The Bible states clear that the fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. The Book of James talks about two kinds of wisdom; the true wisdom that comes from God and the wisdom of this world. The author of the Book of James says the following:

If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.  But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kinds of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. (James 3:13-15)

Then he continues by showing how the wisdom of God works. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. (James 3:17)

This morning, I want to encourage you to obey the commandments of the Lord that you may keep growing in His wisdom. We see Apostles of Jesus knew nothing before they met Jesus; but after they experienced Him and filled with the Spirit of Jesus. They had wisdom more than all rulers and elders and teachers of religious law though they were uneducated. (Acts 4:13, Acts 7:8-10)

I don't say that because you are born again and full of the Spirit you should quit school and just read the Bible. I believe there is importance of formal education in each one of us; and I will encourage everyone who has a chance to go back to school to go. What I'm trying to say is that there is a true wisdom in fearing the Lord; and as you keep obeying His word and live according to His will. Then that wisdom will continue increasing day to day until the day the Lord calls back your name.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, thank You for making Christ to be our wisdom that comes from You. Lord I'm asking that You may fill my soul with your wisdom that I may live according to your plan and purpose. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
