Morning with Ebenezer

HUMBLE YOURSELF

Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.

Numbers 12:3 NIV

The Bible says that Moses was a very humble man, more than anyone else on the face of the earth. It is very rare for the Bible to give this kind of account for someone. No wonder that God used Him mightily and is being considered as the example of Christ for the way he acted and obeyed God.

Another humble man than all men who walked on the earth including Moses himself was Jesus Christ of Nazareth. He was humble because He obeyed the will of His Father and acted according to what the Spirit of God directed Him. We see Apostle Paul commenting about this in Philippians 2:5-8: In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus. Christ himself was like God in everything. But he did not think that being equal with God was something to be used for his own benefit. But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born as a man and became like a servant. And when he was living as a man, he humbled himself and was fully obedient to God, even when that caused his death—death on a cross. (NCV)

The death on the cross was the will of the Father; Christ obeyed and through His obedience we got our salvation. We need to ask ourselves these questions; are we humble enough to obey the will of the Father? Do will live according to the word of God? Are we walking in pride because of our education, exposure, good paid jobs or networks? Are we as humble as Christ Himself?

This morning, I just want you to know that God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. If you want to walk in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; you need to start humbling yourself before God. If you will be humble enough to obey the word of God; the Spirit of God will automatically help you to humble yourself before your fellow men. (James 4:6)

Someone once said; You catch more fly's with honey than vinegar. You will have a good life and be at peace with many if you will be humble rather being proud. If you don't know why you are not good on making friends; why you faced problems in every relationship you entered then you need to start doing a reality check of your attitude.

There is enough possibility you don’t get a man or a woman you are asking God to give you because your attitude does not permit it. You need to come to the moment of truth and face the truth about your attitude and ask the good Lord to change it. Ask the Lord for humbleness, make a decision to live a humble life today; and one day you will look back and be glad that you decide to walk in humbleness.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may help me to humble myself before You; that you may exalt me in your time. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
