Morning with Ebenezer

HE IS COMING

“Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all.“It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. “It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.

Luke 17:26-30 NIV

Jesus gives the example of how life was in the days of Noah. He says people were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. In other words people continued with their normal life and they had no clue that the judgment of God was coming to them.

He then gives example of the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. The day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. He then said, it will be the same on the day the Son of Man returns. Things will be business as usual right up to the hour of His return.

This teaches us that people have the tendency of forgetting their positions. Many live today like they will live in this world forever. No one cares about tomorrow, and no one thinks about what will happen after the end of this present life. These things have been written that we who are in Christ Jesus may not commit the same errors that people who lived before us committed.

This morning, I want to remind you to be prepared for His second coming. I'm here to tell you that one day He will come, He will come with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him. It may seems it take long but one day He will come, and you need to be prepared if you want to inherit His kingdom.

This world will pass away and everything in it, all what you see right now will one day disappear. We need to fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. If you choose to live a holy life in Christ Jesus, God will give you strength to overcome all obstacles that will come in your way. He will strengthen you and prepare you for the second coming of His Son Jesus Christ.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, my life is before your hands. Help me to live according to your word; I want to inherit your heavenly kingdom one day. Give me strength to overcome sin and live holy life in Christ Jesus. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
