CONTINUE... DON'T LOOK BACK!
Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go
back and say goodbye to my family.”
Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks
back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
Luke 9:61-62 NIV
We tend
to look back and remember our old ways. Sometimes we struggle to move on and
let go our old habits. I have seen Christians who kept on falling back on the
same old sins that they once denounced. We have many in the Church who call
themselves Christians but still live a double life.
There are
people and environments that remind us our old ways of life. If we don't stay
away from those kinds of people; and environments then we may end up doing the
same mistakes we did in the past. We need to fight that we may not end up
living the same life that we once lived even in secret.
Our Lord
said, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for
service in the kingdom of God.” In other words if we decide to follow the Lord
we need to put our past and concentrate on what is ahead of us. We need to look
on Jesus who is the starter and finisher of our faith. We need to look the
promise of God that is ahead of us and stop living in the past.
This
morning, I want to encourage you to continue in your journey of salvation in
our Lord Jesus Christ. You may be falling down here and there but that doesn't
mean that you won't finish the race. If you will continue
being persistent and trust God in everything; God will help you
overcome your fears and lead you in right path in Christ Jesus.
Make sure
you stay away from everything that may cause you to go back to sin. It may not
be easy but you need to ask God to help you overcome whatever demons you are
fighting against right now. Jesus is the only one who can help you overcome the
devil and all things that give you hard in life. Trust God with your life, and
let Him take total control of it.
****Morning Prayer****
