SAVED BY GRACE

So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering for the gospel, by the power of God. He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

2 Timothy 1:8-10 NIV

We did not choose God, He chose and appointed us so that we might go and bear fruit--fruit that will last and so that whatever we ask in the name of Jesus, the Father will give us. He went to the cross and died for our sins. He showed His great love through the sacrifice He made there at Calvary. (John 15:16)

The cross has been symbol of victory to us who are in Christ Jesus. Paul the Apostle asked young Timothy not to be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or him. Rather continue doing the work of the ministry, by the power of God. Paul reminds Timothy that God has saved us and called us to a holy life-not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. 

Many people start in humbleness at first but later they develop pride and forget all what the Lord had done for them. They forsake their first love, the love they had for the Lord the day they gave Him their lives. They start taking for granted things of God and stop fearing the word of God has they ought to fear.

This morning, I want you to know that it was by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not from yourself, it the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast, Ephesians 2:8-9. God did not save you because of your good works that you did according to your religious traditions you received from your forefathers. It was His grace that set you free and cleaned you from the filth of sin.

Give God glory for what He has done for you. Preach the Gospel to all who comes in your circle of influence. If you have been given any ministry in the Church, then make sure you do it with a pure heart. You need to know when you serve people in the body of Christ; you are serving God Himself. If you walk right before the Lord for the rest of your days, then you will receive the eternal life that you have been promised in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, I thank You for the gift of salvation. I give myself to You asking that You may help me to reach the perfection in Christ Jesus my Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
