Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 5:2-5 ESV
Hope in Christianity theological virtue defined as the desire and search for a future good, difficult but not impossible to attain with God's help. For us Christians our hope is connected to our Creator God, but for the world their hope is connected to perishable things and mortal men who may seems to have power and wealth for a moment while they are still alive.
When people of God go through sufferings in life, they will have hope in their hearts no matter what difficult it seems to be one day God will see it through. When people of the world undergo the same circumstances in life, when they have done all they thought it was within and beyond their reach. They end up loosing hope and give in to what seems best alternative such as committing suicide.
Paul encouraged Romans to rejoice in sufferings (they were prosecuted by Roman Empire for their faith in Christ), knowing that suffering produce endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put them in shame. Why? because God's love has been poured into their hearts through the Holy Spirit who they were given. Whoa! What a Word!
This morning, God wants you to know that the love which Holy Spirit poured inside of you; is the proof that you will receive whatsoever good things you were expecting from God. The Holy Spirit is the seal that our hope in God is not in vain. That still small voice which keeps on encouraging you to trust in God no matter what seems to come in your way is the proof that all things will be alright.
This seal the world can not steal from us, no matter what we will be going through financial, socially or politically we know that our God is in control. We know for sure that even if diseases will come and attack us but God will come to heal and make us whole. What a joy we have in hope of the glory of God, we know we are going to make it no matter what happens! To be absent in this body, is to be present with Christ. We don't have nothing to loose, choosing Christ made us gain all in this world and the world to come too!
