Morning with Ebenezer

PAST IS OVER

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:18-19 NIV

Past is a period gone by time and no longer existing. What is taking place now, when tomorrow comes it will remain to be a history. We all have our past, and most of the times our past are clouded by the things which we do not want many people who surround us to know.

After what took place with the Children of Israel, the way there where slaves in Egypt for 400 years, then taken in exile to Babylon. They were trapped by many nations and rulers who afflicted them and held them captives. The prophet came with the message of hope, the message of peace in the midst of their sorrow; that they should forget what happened to them, and not dwell on the past wounds and pains.

When we were in Egypt, being the slaves of sin under the rule of Pharaoh who is the example of devil himself. Many of us found ourselves doing things which not only hurt the heart of Jesus but had the same effects in our hearts. We lived loose loose life, when we sinned we did not gain any profit from it and in the mean time we left marks of pain of what we did inside.

This morning, God wants you to forget former things, and stop dwelling on the past. It is difficult to overcome the ghosts of your past and live a free life with your own strengths. The devil will continue bringing the certificate of indictment every now and then, reminding of how much of a sinner you were, how huge your sins were and how terrible they were before God.

Many saints who have been redeemed by the blood, walk in this past mentality attitude. This cause them to lack the experience of the full joy of their salvation. The devil will not let you acknowledge that you are forgiven, he knows by doing that you will have the victory in life; that's why he keeps you in the past that you may continue being weak.

No matter what your past looked like, it does not matter you were a satanist, abortionist, atheist, or even murder. His blood is more than enough to pay off your crimes. Start your day with the boldness in your heart, know that His blood which was shed for your sins, has done it all. Let the past go, and live in the present and embrace what God had in store for your future.

****Morning Prayer*****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may give me strength to forget my past. I refuse to continue living in the past. My soul forget the former things, my soul know that Jesus has forgiven you and your past sins are no longer remembered. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
