Morning with Ebenezer

JESUS: THE IMAGE OF GOD

Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.”
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

John 14:8-9 NKJV-

John the revelator says in John 1:18, ''No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.'' Before Jesus came to this world, no one real knew the nature of God and the love of God which the prophets declared to the people from the beginning of this world.

When Jesus came He revealed God to us, He showed the nature of God and the love of God to us. He healed the sick, cast out demons, blind received their sight and the lame walk, lepers were cleansed and the deaf heard, the dead rose up, and the poor were preached the good news to them. He revealed what God is able to do for mankind.

This Jesus has been the life of everyone of us in different ways but in the same media of love. St. Augustine of Hippo said, ''God loves each of us as if there were only one of us''. Indeed this saying is true, the way God loves me sometimes feels like am the only one in this world; but I came to understand that each one of us has his own love story with this wonderful God.

This morning, God wants you to know that He has revealed Himself through His Son Jesus. Our forefathers worshiped idols and the things which in nature are not God, but the works of human hands. They sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons, these gods promoted hatred among themselves and they had no mercies on them. They had no love in them and hence they saved these gods with fear but not with love.

Jesus came with the real face of God that He was not the God who hated men, but loved them. He was more than willing to heal our backsliding and to return us in his marvelous love through His Son Jesus Christ. If you want to know God, then read the Gospel of Jesus and you will know what God has in mind for you. There you will find the complete account of all what Jesus did and promise to do to all who will put their trust to Him.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may reveal yourself to me, make me to know you and to understand your ways. Teach my heart to fear you and my soul to worship you. Teach me to love you and to love my neighbor as myself. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
