BOASTING ABOUT TOMORROW

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.”

James 4:13-15 NKJV

We are living in the world where a man is so sure about tomorrow in such a way he makes a long term plans to sustain him for many years to come. We see weather forecast which can predict the weather conditions for at least ten days and above by using the modern technology.

Due to this technology we tend to teach our children to prepare for tomorrow, on how they should dress when they go to school according to the weather of that particular day. This is good, and it is wonder before our eyes to be able the to predict the state of stock market and outcome of our economies and the value of our currencies; but this do not undermine the fact that our lives are in the hand of God.

The secular world tend to ignore this fact and a modern man thinks he can do everything by himself without the help of his Creator. I have met people who call them themselves atheists, these are people who deny the existence of God or any other form of gods. They live for today and knowing that tomorrow will come too and their lives will continue and nothing will make them to stumble. They say after they die everything will be over and their life will be total complete and hence they don't believe in any kind of future judgement.

This morning, God wants you to stop boasting about tomorrow. He wants you to know that your life is His hands, it is like a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.''

Stop living like the way secular world live without putting God in their midst; and while kicking Him out in everything which they think He is present. Make God to be a center of your life, make Him to be your decision maker through the power of His Holy Spirit. Submit your life to Him, let His will prevail and yours be put low; because He is the owner of your life including that tomorrow which you are looking for.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may teach my heart to be submissive to your will, not boasting about anything but your will to be done in me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
