Morning with Ebenezer

ANGER

“In your anger do not sin” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.

Ephesians 4:26 NIV

Anger triggers the body's 'fight or flight' response. Other emotion that trigger this response include fear, excitement and anxiety. Unmanaged anger can cause harm to different systems of the body. Short term and long term health problems are: Headache, digestion problems such as abdominal pain, depression, high blood pressure, heart attack, stroke, and obesity.

Most of the time when we get angry, we are tempted to sin by either our words, thoughts or even our actions. There is no problem to be angry, but the Bible teaches us that while we are in that state we need to be careful that we may not sin against the Lord.

The time we let the sun go down while we are still angry; we give the chance to the devil to start implanting new thoughts inside of us which will led us to sin. This unresolved anger inside of us, led us to plant the seed of unforgiveness which later trouble both us and those around us.

This morning, God wants you to know that unresolved anger gives the place to the devil. If the devil missed you in other areas which he would cause you to error. He will try to test you in anger. He will bring people who will cause you to get mad that he may get a full control of you. But you need to know to control your anger; because it is one of Satan's devices to make your err.

Let us avoid being under the bondage of anger. We need to ask the Lord to help control ourselves while we are in that mood. Many have got much loss because of anger, and the enemy keeps on dragging many in the same trap.

The book of Proverbs says the following about anger. Foolish people loose their tempers, but wise control theirs. A gentle answer will  calm a person's anger, but unkind answer will cause more anger. Don't make friends with quick-tempered people or spend time with those who have bad tempers. (Proverbs 29:11,15:1, 22:24)

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that You may give me strength to control my anger; teach me when to speak and when to keep quiet. Help me to respond to my critics in a wise way that I may not give devil a place. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
