Morning with Ebenezer

PRAYER LIFE

Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.

Daniel 6:10 NIV

Many Christians ask themselves why they have lost the taste for God. They are just like noisy bells or a ringing cymbal. What they have is based on their feelings but it does not come from  their hearts. They keep asking themselves if God is too far away, or it's just the way it supposed to be.

During this state of spiritual drought some have found themselves falling in the trap of compromising. They seek approval from men because they think in their hearts that God has left them. They think that God is delaying in helping them from their misery; and hence they start depending on their own knowledge.

The enemies of Daniel during the time of King Darius who wanted to see Daniel out of the government affairs. They agreed to ask the king to issue an edict and enforce the decree that anyone who prays to any god or human being during the next thirty days, expect to you, Your Majesty, shall be thrown into the lions' den. When Daniel knew this he continued on his knees and prayed, without fearing the decree of the king.

This morning, God wants you to know that the spiritual stamina to stand and trust God in both mountains and valleys, is found in prayerfully life. Daniel was bold like lion, he did not fear even the day they cast him in the lions' den for not obeying the decree of the king. He knew the King of kings and Lord of Lords will come for his rescue.

Our prayerlessness life is the one which cause us to lack the taste for God. The first days which you knew the Lord, it would never pass a day without praying two to tree times. Your things seemed easy, you got favor all the place you went and people knew you were called by the name of the Lord. 

Return to your first love, God do not need a helper but a lover. Start loving Him, go to Him in prayer daily as Daniel did three times a day. The taste for the things of God will return, the desire to know the secrets which are found in the glorious Gospel of kingdom will increase. You will start seeing things in higher dimensions, and you will know when the enemy comes for you with the aid of the Spirit of God. The Lord  will not allow him to touch you.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I'm asking that you help me to live the life of prayer. Give me the desire to seek your face day and night that I may walk according to your will in my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
