Morning with Ebenezer

GIVE THANKS

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.

Psalm 136:1-3 NIV

Psalmist David dedicated the whole chapter of Psalm 136 to give thanks to God. If you read the book of Psalm you will notice countless times David thanking God for all what He did in his personal life and the nation of Israel as a whole. People who remember to give thanks even on small things are humble people.

God has done many great things in our lives but many times we fail to see them and concentrate on hardships that surround us. Some of us were raised in the communities that people complained about everything. They complained about the government, leaders, their spouses, children and relatives. They complained why they were born in the families that they were born in and nations they were born.

The Bible teaches us to give thanks to God; it encourages us to have the attitude of thanksgiving before God. We need to learn to give thanks for those small things that we take for granted most of the time. Many of us can afford to eat at least twice a day and drink clean water and other drinks; but there are people in some parts of the world who struggle even two get one meal a day and a cup of clean water to drink.

This morning, I want to encourage you to give thanks to God in all things for He is good and His love endures forever. If you are able to read this, it means you are in a place where you have access to the internet in your daily basis. You may take that lightly but not all people are able to go online as you do every day.

You are still alive until today while many have died who wanted to continue to live to see this day. Many are in hospitals laying with pain, some don't have the life you have so you need to learn to give thanks to God; and stop complaining like people who don't know God. One of the sin that cost the lives of many Israelites in the desert was the sin of complaining. Many died because they failed to give God glory and complained every time they faced hardships; if you want to live right before God then you need to learn to give thanks in everything. (Numbers 11:1-3)

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, forgive me for complaining about my hardships instead of praying. Lord I'm asking that You may build in me the attitude of thanksgiving in all things; that I may walk in the favor of You ooh Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
