LEARN
FROM SARAH
And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled
to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the
promise.
Hebrews 11:11 NIV
Faith in the Bible is defined
as the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the
certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it
up ahead, Hebrews 11:1. It then continues in verse 2 by saying: Men of God
in days of old were famous for their faith.
We don't see God by our own
natural eyes but through the eyes of faith we believe that God exists; and that
He is the rewarder of those who seek Him. Sarah had faith in God, when God
promised her a son though she was past childbearing age, she believed Him and
when time came Sarah bore a son who was named Isaac.
It took the faith of two
people Sarah and Abraham for Isaac to be born. God who first promised Abraham
and later visited them through three men, and one of them said, “I will
surely return to you about this time next year, and Sarah your wife will have a
son.”(Genesis 17:17-22, 18:9-14)
This morning, there is
something we can learn from our mother Sarah. Many folks in the church want to
be prayed for different things; but they don't have the faith of receiving
them. They want their Pastors and spiritual leaders to have the whole faith
needed for them to get their miracles. They don't pray, fast or read the word
of God that they may at least increase their faith.
They get disappointed so
easily when they see nothing happens in their lives and their prayers are not
answered. Thus they change churches like the way someone can change clothes. They
don't like to stay at one place; because they are constantly seeking miracles and
blessings in different churches.
I want to ask you to stop
running to and fro and start seeking God in that place where God has placed
you. It takes your faith and the faith of your Pastor for you to receive your
miracles. If you want your Isaac (promise) to be born in your life; then you
need to have faith in God for He is the one who can allow your Isaac to be
born.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your
prayer....
Dear Father, I'm asking that
You may enable me to have faith in your Name. Help me to stand by my own faith
while waiting for my Isaac. Knowing that You are faithful God; and you fulfill
your promise to me in due time. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
