Morning with Ebenezer

BE SATISFIED

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.

1 Timothy 6:1o NIV
We are called to live a holy life in Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. We are called to live a life of contentment, and the Bible says godliness combined with contentment brings great profit, 1 Tim 6:6. It brings profit for a believer because it will teach him to be satisfied with whatsoever he has in life.

The Paul continues by saying: For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that, 1 Tim 6:7-8. There are many doctrines emerging in the body of Christ, there are some that are so popular in our time; including what known as prosperity Gospel and the Gospel of grace.

These doctrines have been taught by many ministers through televisions, radios, books and conferences around the world. Many Christians who are still struggling in life feel like they are out of place; because the lack of seen successes in their lives is translated as lack of blessings of God by others. We are seeing the generation of Christian who develops the behavior of loving money; and this may open the door to all kinds of evil to come in their lives.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to ask God to help you to be happy and satisfied with the life that He has given you. I don’t say that you should not work hard and do everything in your power to develop yourself and seek wealth in life. What you need is to be content with what you have and believe God for more in His time.

You need to learn not to feel jealous when others have more than what you have; but work hard on your part and believe God that one day He will remember and bless you too. In the mean time it is not true that every materials blessing is from God even if someone claims it was God the one who blessed Him. The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it, Proverbs 10:22. If a blessing is from God, it will bring wealth to a person then they will be no trouble to it.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer….

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord I’m asking that You may help me to live the life of godliness with contentment. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
