ONCE SAVED ALWAYS SAVED
“But when a righteous man turns
away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the
abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness
which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of
which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall
die.
Ezekiel 18:24 NKJV
There are people who believe
in the doctrine which says; once someone is saved, he will always remain saved.
Shortly is known as once saved always saved; they believe that the grace of God
is so powerful to allow the people who were saved by Jesus to lose their
salvation.
These teachers encourage
people to live their lives and even if they will commit things which are
against the word of life; they will receive pardon from God because He will
never let them die in sin. I believe in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, I
believe that there is a forgiveness of sin; and that we receive salvation
freely by faith but I also believe that each one of us can lose that salvation.
The Bible says, if a
righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does
according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, and then it asks,
shall he live? Here the Bible gives us the picture of a born again believer,
who received Jesus and walked in His ways. Later this believer changed and
started doing things that are not God's. Shall he inherit the kingdom of God?
Then the Bible answers by
saying; all the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered;
because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has
committed, because of them he shall die. This means that even if you received
Jesus, filled by the Holy Ghost and do the work of ministry; if you will not
hold what the Lord has given you until the end. You will find yourself loosing
it all and end up in the hell of fire.
This morning, I want you to
know that you can lose your salvation if you will not be faithful until the
end. If you want to be counted worth to inherit that coming Kingdom of our Lord
Jesus Christ then be faithful in all of your ways. Don't be that servant who
said in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins to beat
the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, Luke 12:45.
Jesus continues by saying:
the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him,
and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him
his portion with the unbelievers, Luke 12:46. If you want to inherit the
kingdom of heaven; then you need to continue staying faithful in all of your
doings waiting the Lord to come and take you in His Father's house.
****Morning Prayer****
Pray this prayer with me by
faith and God is going to answer your prayer....
Dear Father, I have learnt
that there is possibility of losing my salvation if I will not be faithful
until the end. Lord I'm asking that You may help me to walk in faithfulness
everyday; help me to grow in the Lord Jesus Christ while keeping the word of
truth in my heart. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
