WORDS OF FAITH
Now faith is the assurance
(title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the
evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends
as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. For by this
[kind of] faith the men of old gained [divine] approval.
By faith [that is, with
an inherent trust and enduring confidence in the power, wisdom and goodness of
God] we understand that the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created
[formed, put in order, and equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of
God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.
Hebrews 11:1-3 AMP
We know that faith is the
assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen. We said
this assurance means having the confirmation that something will happen in a
near future. When we say faith gives you evidence, this means faith convict us
of their reality that although we cannot experience them by the physical senses
they are surely exist.
The Bible teaches one
powerful thing about the God we serve, it says, “(as it is written, “I
have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he
believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist
as though they did”. In other translation the Bible says God speaks, and
something is mad out nothing, Romans 4:17. In other words He speaks by faith
those things which do not exist as though they did; and those things start
appearing in our physical realm.
By faith we understand that
the worlds (universe, ages) were framed and created [formed, put in order, and
equipped for their intended purpose] by the word of God, so that what is seen
was not made out of things which are visible. God spoke the word, and all
things came to existence; by this He wanted us to know that there is a
tremendous power in our words. If we speak words of faith, those things we speak
shall surely come to pass.
This morning, I want you to
learn speaking the words of faith over your life. The tongue can bring
death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences, Proverbs 18:21.
If you speak curse words to your children; they will one day turn to be like
the words that you have been speaking over their lives for years. If you speak
harsh words to your spouse, by calling him looser, cheater, or any kind of the words
you use. You will wake up one day and find him or her turns to be just like
your words.
Your words have power to
influence your future, heal your past and sustain your present. If you say I
will never mount up to anything in this life; then you will die broke and
miserable. You may go to heaven because you gave your life to Jesus; but you
will face every kind of hardship in this world. Change your words and you will
change your life. Make a decision to start living the life of faith, and
reaping good harvest from your words by speaking the words of faith over your
life; and those around you. We will continue with this Faith Series tomorrow.
God bless you!
