Morning with Ebenezer

NOW FAITH

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses].

Hebrews 11:1 AMP

The eleventh chapter of the Book of Hebrews explains the concept of faith from the beginning of time. It gives example of great men and women of God who lived by faith in the past. It starts with Abel who offered to God a more excellent sacrifice that Cain. Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

It explains Noah, who being warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which according to faith. It then explains about faithful Abraham who obeyed God when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. It continues giving examples of people and mentions their great acts of faith.

Verse one says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen.” Faith gives you confirmation of the things you want to take place in your near future; that will take place and it gives you evidence of things that are not yet seen or experienced by the physical senses such as our eyes. Without faith it is impossible to please God, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

This morning, I want to encourage you to live the life of faith. You need to practice your faith in Christ Jesus, stop complaining why things are not happening like the way you want them to be. Start praying that God may command them to be like the way you wish them to be. Don't go to prayers and say I will pray now and have the faith to receive tomorrow. You need to have faith the moment you pray and believe that God is giving you right that moment.

You need to pray by faith now, and the evidence will be seen later. God wants His people to walk by faith and know that they do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. So you need to have faith that you may be able to fight and overcome such forces. I pray that God may give you that kind of faith. We will continue with this Faith Series tomorrow. God bless you!

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, help me to live the life of faith in Christ Jesus my Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
