Call off is to cancel, postpone postpone indefinitely or annul something that was scheduled. This terminology is highly used in work places, where people use it the time they are not able to come in a particular day at work. They call off, for some reasons which they hindered them to be at work according to the schedule.
I want to to relate the double minded person as the one with the behavior of calling off before God. According to Clarke's Commentary on the Bible: A double-minded man - The man of two souls, who has one for earth, and another for heaven; who wishes to secure both worlds; he will not give up earth, and he is loth to let heaven go.This is the man who tends to cancel or postpone the calling of God in his life, for some unexplained reasons.
This is the man, who determine to seek the Lord with all his heart today; but later change his mind and go to watch movies with his friends. This is the man who can promise one girl that he will marry her, but later will come and say that the Lord has shown me another girl. This is the man who will be a Born again believer when he is together with brethren from a local church; but later when no one who knows him is not around, he will mingle himself with secular people an forget everything about God.
This morning, God wants you to start a new year while having single mind towards Him. He wants you to refuse to be a man of double minded. Whatever wavering attitude you had before God last year concerning your commitment to Christ. This is the year of fixing your life, this is the year of building everlasting relationship with the Lord.
This is your year! God has given you a chance to see it because is not finished with you yet. There is out of season miracles for you in this year, there is supernatural breakthrough for you this year. What you need to do is to be faithful on the sight of God and keep holding on His promises for your life. Happy New Year and God bless you.

Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. Lord I thank You for this year 2013, I'm asking that You may make me to be a single minded person this year. Make me to live for you alone this year, to say Yes to your will and refuse all Satanic plans against my life. In Jesus' Name,Amen.
