Morning with Ebenezer

FEAR GOD

You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror.

James 2:19 NLT

Demons believe that there is one God and they tremble in terror. They know that He is the one who created all things which are seen and not seen. He is the one who created the universe and all things in it. He is the God who will judge the living and the dead; and restore the kingdoms of this world to the Son of His love.

Sometimes we take God and things of God for granted; we don't fear when we read that God doesn't want us to live a certain kind of life. We think because there is repentance, and then we will repent even if we sin. In the reality there is no fear of the Lord in many people lives in the Church; and this hurt the heart of the Lord.

There are some of us who are good Christians during the day; and when the dark comes, we do things of the darkness that are not pleasing before the Lord. Psalmist David says: In the council of the holy ones God is greatly feared; he is more awesome than all who surround him, Psalm 89:7. God is greatly feared in the council of the holy ones (angelic ones); and He is more frightening than all who surround Him.

This morning, I want to remind to walk in the fear of the Lord. If you want to be effective in your Christianity; you need to learn to fear the Lord. You need to have a personal mission to fight against sin in your life. You know which kind of sin that keeps on pushing you down; you know what kind of behaviors that are not right before the Lord. Then you need to learn to humble yourself before the Lord that He may deliver you.

We all have a thorn in our flesh that makes us pray, something that keeps us humble and going back to God for His grace. Then this may teach you to fear God, and to know that He is the one who forgive you from all your wrongdoings.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may teach me to fear You. Forgive me for where I have sinned against You. I want to live a life pleasing before You; help me to do that in Christ Jesus my Lord. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
