Morning with Ebenezer

PURPOSE

Good people pass away;
    the godly often die before their time.
    But no one seems to care or wonder why.
No one seems to understand
    that God is protecting them from the evil to come.
 For those who follow godly paths
    will rest in peace when they die.

Isaiah 57:1-2 NLT

We all somehow came across with Psalm 90:10 that says; Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But even the best years are filled with pain and trouble; soon they disappear, and we fly away. Many saints are aware of this verse, and even in their prayers they claim to live long to see these years that they may glorify God that they have reached that far.

If we look the life of our Lord Jesus Christ, He died still a young man only at 33 years old. I know that God was able to let Him live long enough and get old like everybody else but why did He allowed Him to die at 33? The answer is found in these words of Jesus, "Therefore when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit, John 19:30."

These words, "It is finished!'', meant that Jesus finished the purpose of His coming and there was no more reason for Him to continue to live. In other words many great men of God went to the Father still young, not because God didn't want them to live long; but it was because they had finished their work that they were created to do. God did not want to continue to live to protect them from any kind of evil the enemy prepared ahead of them.

This morning, I want you to ask God to help you know the purpose that you were created for in this life. The late Dr Myles Munroe once said; "The biggest tragedy in life is not death, but life without a purpose". If you don't know your purpose then now is about time to sit down and ask God to show you your purpose in life that you may fulfill it before you die.

Bishop T.D Jakes says, “If you can't figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose.” Whatever God created you to be sometimes it may manifest itself in inform of passion. You may find yourself having a passion to do certain things in life and at the end of the day that passion end up to be your purpose. May God help you to know your purpose that you may live a fulfilled life in the rest of your days.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Father, I have many plans in my life. Lord I'm asking that your purpose in my life may prevail. May your will prevail in my life and that you may help me fulfill my purpose in life. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
