Morning with Ebenezer

HE LOVED US FIRST

In this act we see what real love is: it is not our love for God but his love for us when he sent his Son to satisfy God’s anger against our sins.

Dear friends, since God loved us as much as that, we surely ought to love each other too.

1 John 4:10-11 TLB

One of the things that you as the Christian you need to know is that God loved you when you were still a sinner. He sent His Son to save you and me from our sins; that we may inherit the Kingdom of God. He gave away His life that He may give us life. The price was life for life, that's why today we can boldly say we are saved.

The Bible says there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends, John 15:13. Jesus was the one who did this act of love; He went beyond what a normal human being could do. He was being punished for what we did. He was crushed because of our guilt. He took the punishment we deserved, and this brought us peace. We were healed because of His pain. (Isaiah 53:5)

God set us an example on how we should love one another. He gave us a standard that we should give ourselves away for the sake of our friends. We should be willing to walk an extra mile for the sake of unsaved loved ones. We should pray for all people including our enemies and if it is possible, as much as depends on us, we should live peaceably with all men.

This morning, I just want to encourage you to love like Jesus. Don't wait for people to come to you and show you love and support; try to be the one who will go to them and show them love and support. If you want to be loved, you should be the first one to love.

Try to be a bigger person in every situation in life. This Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi will help you to understand the meaning of being a bigger person in every situation.

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy.

O, Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; it is in dying that we are born again to eternal life.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for your Word. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
