Morning with Ebenezer

FINISH THE RACE

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 NIV

Paul was charging his spiritual son Timothy to preach the Word; to be prepared in season and out of season; to correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruct the flock of the Lord. He started by reminding him about his own life, the way he ministered and suffered for the sake of the Gospel. (2 Tim 4:1-8)

He encouraged him to continue walking in his ways and the way of the Lord that he may finish what the Lord had started in him. He said that he had fought the good fight, and finished the race and in the mean time kept the faith. He was looking forward to the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to him on that day and all who longed for his appearing.

These words of Paul taught us that there is a battle to fight in this journey of salvation. There are races set before us and the victories to be won for the Lord while keeping the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ inside of us. Paul talked about the crown of righteousness which will be given to the people who were right with God in their hearts and who lived right. This crown will be eligible to those who will fight the good fight of faith and finish the race, the question comes, and will you be among of them?

This morning, I just want to encourage you to continue fighting the good fight of faith and finish the race. Sometimes things can be difficult even to strong believers; to people who spent their whole lives in the church. This does not means the Lord is not there, but it is just the indication that there are different seasons in life and each season comes with its own significance.

Trust the Lord, fight a good fight and keep the faith of the Lord Jesus Christ in everywhere you go. Be strong and do not fear the devil, know that He is the defeated foe. There is nothing which he can plan against you; that the Lord cannot save you. The crown is before you; make sure that you will receive it on that day.

****Morning Prayer****

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm asking that You may give me strength to fight a good fight, to finish the race and keep the faith of your Son Jesus Christ. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
