SONS OF GOD

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Romans 8:15-17 NIV

The Holy Spirit will resonate with the spirit of every born-again believer, giving them the assurance that they are indeed the sons of God. No other world religion makes this claim of assurance.

This sonship means all those who have become part of God's family through the blood of Jesus Christ no longer have to toil at the weary tasks of servants, but can enjoy the relationship that is only known by sons. 

The work of a believer is because we have a relationship with God, no to try to achieve a relationship with Him through our own effort. We have this certainty because of the Holy Spirit who indwells us and gives us the confidence that God is our loving Father, not our grim and severe taskmaster. This morning, God wants you to know that through Jesus Christ you were given the right to be His child. He has sent the Holy Spirit to testify that truth in your spirit that you may be bold to go before God as His child. You need to know that you have a direct access to the Father through the blood of Jesus which was shed for our sins.

Know that you are a child of God and stop living the life of fear. Fear of the devil, fear of demons and power of the darkness. You are a child of light; the darkness cannot prevail against you. God will protect you until the day He comes to take His blameless and spotless Church.

Pray this prayer with me by faith and God is going to answer your prayer....

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for your Word. I praise You that through Jesus I have got the right to become your child. Help me to live according to your Word and the leading of your precious Holy Spirit. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
